Advantages: A lively, upbeat album which is tautly compiled, including all the great hits. Disadvantages: Lacks maybe one or two key songs. Album a little long.
This album was compiled a few years before DustySpringfield died of cancer in the 1990s, relaunching all of her hits onto a modern audience as well as allowing older audiences to relive her greatness. It is a fantastic disc for loyal fans of Dusty who want all of her hits on one disc, as well as a perfect gateway for new fans who want a taste of her music. Many of her well-known songs are here, including 'I Only Wanna Be With You', 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me', 'I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself', 'The Look of Love' and 'Son of a Preacher Man'. It also includes 'What Have I Done To Deserve This', Dusty's collaboration track with the Pet Shop Boys, and the album as a whole provides a variety of upbeat and mellow tracks, making it a perfect soundtrack all year round.
Dusty's originality was clearly marked in the 1960s when ...
Advantages: some great songs, great lyrics Disadvantages: neil young only sings a few tracks
buffalo springfield is the debut album from the rock and roll hall of famers, featuring folk rock giants stephen stills and neil young.
this album features an ecletic mix of 12 tracks including the famous 'for what its worth'. the rest of the songs are perhaps not as instantly recognisable but in general the quality of the songs is very good. there is a good mix between laid back folk-rock such as 'hot dusty roads', 'out of my mind' and 'do i have to come right out and say it' to the frenetic blues of 'leave' and everything in between.
lyrically this album is very good as all the songs are either stills or young originals and the musicianship is very solid if not groundbreaking. stephen stills exerts the most influence on this album, taking lead vocals or lead guitar on the majority of tracks. Neil young only has a couple of songs ...
Advantages: Original classic comedy Disadvantages: None
gap before you found out what happened. There was intense speculation about what happened, and this only increased the popularity of the show. There was even a "Springfield's Most Wanted" show looking at various suspects. This was well handled and deftly executed, if you'll pardon the pun. They kept you guessing until the last possible moment, two great episodes full of mystery.
"Black Widower" has Selma wedding her pen pal who is in prison. He also happens to be Sideshow Bob, who Bart sent to prison when he tried to frame Krusty for armed robbery. Bart thinks something is fishy, but can he save the day before Sideshow Bob completes his plan, or is it all in his head? This is a deliciously devilish episode, almost Hitchcockian in it's premise. Probably one of the best written episodes ever, it's funny but also has a very dark tone ...

The title may be a tad deceptive--one of Dusty Springfield's most memorable records, a gorgeous take on Arthur Alexander's Southern soul classic "Every Day I Have to Cry" is mysteriously missing--but this is nonetheless one of the best single disc anthologies of her work. Arranged in more or less chronological order, it runs the gamut from the exuberant pure pop of "I Only Want to Be With You," through the proto-power ballad "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me," to "A Brand New Me," her last American hit. Some of the lesser known tracks are also revelatory--in the Spector-esque "Stay Awhile" Springfield overdubs herself into a one-woman version of the Ronettes. Her version of "I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself" has often been performed by Elvis Costello.
