I doubt there is anyone who hasn't heard this song. I personally dislike Tom Jones very much but I kinda have to admit that what's new pussycat is a great catchy song. Like many of Bacharachs songs, what's new pussycat was the signature tune to the Woody Allen film of the same name. Film critics deemed the film as decadent and immoral. The film was also Woody Allen's film debut and Tom Jones' second hit after it's not unusual. 10 TOWER OF STRENGTH - GENE MCDANIELS (1961) 11 (THE MAN WHO SHOT) LIBERTY VALANCE - GENE PITNEY (1962) This is a very bouncy song. .... The sweet and tight harmonies of Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson made for a magical combination. Where Did Our Love Go caught on to the public liek a magnet, racing its way into pole position on teh charts. This was mereley the beginning of Supremes mania and the first in a sequence of Supremes mania and the first in a sequence of five consecutive chart toppers on both the Pop and R&B Charts. The Supremes had been travelling across the U.S.A on the Dick Clark Caravan Of Stars appearing alongside such notable chart acts of the day like The Shirelles, Gene Pitney and The Crystals. When The Supremes first started out on the Dick Clark Caravan Of Stars they were simply billed as "and others" but after the staggering chart-topping success of Where Did Our Love Go they were the HEADLINE attraction! With a total of 40 tracks, including all of the biggest hits of the first ten epochal years of the Stones' recording career, Rolled Gold+ is an essential collection that explains just how the group earned the right to be called "The World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band." At last rolled gold is released in cd fomat, it has been a long time coming, however, well worth the wait. there is a plethora of rolling stones best and greatest hits covering different periods of their long career. this cd is a peice of history, it does not get much better than this, buy it, recommended !
