Advantages: Hard to find jukebox singles are now available on this CD Disadvantages: NONE
...For 36 years I've been collectingJerry Vale music. The jukebox singles were always hard to come by, only finding a 45 single now and then. Then WA-LA! Here's the ultimate collection of Jerry Vale singles all wrapped up in this wonderful collection titled "The Essential 50s Singles". Not only are some of his greatest hits part of this CD, but there's also a few surprises. "Tired Of Dreaming" is a dramatic song, showing off Vale's astounding voice range. "For You My Love", could almost be an operatic song for Jerry. Two songs are very Un-Vale-Like and very enjoyable, "Heaven Came Down To Earth", and "The Flame". "Heaven Came Down To Earth" is a swanky swing number with great orchestration, that Vale sings like only Vale can. Listening to "The Flame", you can picture 2 people sharing an ice creme soda at a 50's style Malt-Shop with it...

Advantages: Jam packed full of top 10 smashes for every occasion Disadvantages: One or two weak links (5,6,7,8/
...Steps Gold. Sounds vaguely familiar to Abba Gold. And to a lesser extent, Gold: the very best of Perry Como (R.I.P). For my first opinion in (does some quick arithmetic) 53 days (ok that took quite a while to work out!), I thought I'd write about my favourite members of Planet Pop. The all singing (well except Lee) all dancing, all glittery Kings and Queens of cheese. First, a little background:
- Steps are: H (Ian Watkins), Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford Evans and Claire Richards.
- Steps had their first hit way back in November 1997, the now cringeworthy homage to line dancing that was 5,6,7,8. Went down in history as the biggest selling single of the 90s to never make the top 10.
- Heartbeat/Tragedy spent 8 weeks in the top 10 before reaching the number 1 spot, and went on to spend a colossal 15 weeks...

Advantages: 2 CD's for price of one Disadvantages: NONE
...A Rhapsody"(Now available on a double CD collection titled "There Goes My Heart/I Hear A Rhapsody), would have been a better CD compilation, however "The Language Of Love" is also an excellent album with more of Vale's best vocals. "I Love You Much To Much" is one of my favorite Vale songs, as is "Two Different Worlds". This 2-for-1 CD is an excellent addition to any romantic music collection as are all of Jerry Vale's collections....
