Disadvantages: a little slow paced

...Gold against the soul is the second installmet from the manics and sees them in A more sombre mature mood. The whole album has a more soulful feel encompased In songs such as L’atrissessa duree ( the sadness will endure ) about a war veteran Who is uncontent with his pitiful life, it speaks about the need for him to sell his medals to make ends meat. This level of social commentary is present in other parts of the album sucha s roses in the Hospital. Overall the album is emotional but very compelling.... Read review

Advantages: Cool name , brutal music
Disadvantages: confusing and ultimately annoying DVDA

...Well, the name says it all really. This is Pig Destroyer, a band on the USA label Relapse, who also host the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan. Pig Destroyer play what has come to be known as "grindcore", and quite good at it they are too. The album opens strongly with Pretty in Casts, but eventually weakens as you realise you have already heard it all before. The lyrics seem to almost repeat themselves and are hard to logically follow. The energy is constantly set to 10 though, and the CD makes for an entertaining offering for a rainy day. This is for fans of the bleepy The Locust. Except this is less bleepy. The DVDA that comes with the CD is somewhat confusing. It's not a DVD, it's a DVDA. On it is some ambient noise and the story of some girl being killed, or raped or something. It's pretty boring, and I wouldn't suggest... Read review

Advantages: Tiesto at his best
Disadvantages: Too few tracks

...DJ Tiesto absolutely deserves a gold medal for this CD. This is amazing stuff. Every single track on this CD is on another level, true trance at its very best. The vocals from Kirsty Hawksahw (who by the way has the most beautiful voice i have ever heard) add a lot to the tracks also, creating an almost flowing and heavenly balance in the beats. The very famous Adagio for Strings and Traffic are the great non-vocal tracks on the CD, and so is Forever Today which was the opening track at the most recent olympics- the olympics people!!! It shows how great Tiesto is. The lyrics in this album are very thought provoking and at the same time comforting with the beats making the body rhythmically move. This is Tiesto at his excellence (once again) and should be included (without dobt) in your collection of trance/tiesto.... Read review
