Music with meaning, music with heart. That’s what I want to talk to you about today ladies and germs. Music that actually affects the synapses, not just a quick caffeine fix of melody with candy-ass lyrics. Anyone can sing; “babe I miss you so much when will you come back because I’m hurting inside and now you’re back I feel quite good actually” but do we really believe Britney Bores or Christina Suck-ilera mean it? If by we you mean me then no. ... ...only really get to me when sung in a more intimate manner – acoustic guitars and backing by ACTUAL bands. Luscious Jackson manage this. Lou Reed can do it. Aimee Mann can too. During one of my random buying sprees, I discovered that Ryan Adams is a contender also – and this album is now on “heavy rotation” chez Pepper. Keeps me ticking, like.
I actually bought this debut CD of his as part of a “5 for £50” deal at Virgin Megastores, and it’s widely ...

Advantages: Versatility, Musicianship, Achingly good vocals Disadvantages: Not for teens on the whole
We all know that the music business perpetuates itself through HYPE, be it in the teenage girlieboy-fest that is Smash Hits or the ‘serious music lovers’ guides like Q and Mojo. Every year a new genius is proclaimed, every month one album is branded an instant classic. And last year’s hype for the grown up serious music lover was Ryan Adams and his second album, ‘Gold’. Almost every music magazine and arts review I read ... ...of the Year. The Man =
Ryan Adams is an American who’s been around for a while making his own distinctive rockish, bluesish, countryish mark first with the band Whiskeytown and then as a solo artist. His first album, ‘Heartbreakers’, sold well in the US, but it’s with ‘Gold’ that he’s come to worldwide attention and broken into the UK. The Music
‘Gold’ is a 16 track, 70 minute ...

Advantages: Their greatest hits Disadvantages: Nothing
...IThis product was £12.99 its a two CD-set, includes all of the Stones tracks that were part of the original Rolled Gold vinyl LP plus an additional 12 tracks that were not included in the 1975 retrospective release.
With a total of 40 tracks, including all of the biggest hits of the first ten epochal years of the Stones' recording career, Rolled Gold+ is an essential collection that explains just how the group earned the right to be called "The World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band."
At last rolled gold is released in cd fomat, it has been a long time coming, however, well worth the wait. there is a plethora of rolling stones best and greatest hits covering different periods of their long career. this cd is a peice of history, it does not get much better than this, buy it, recommended ! It truely does remind me just how good...

Advantages: Brilliant, Fantastic Band, Disadvantages: Nothing At All.
...all, well most of us, have heard of this group, with such hits as Gold, Through The Barricades, and True but to name a few, this group has made headlines all around the world. if you add up how many weeks there singles spent in the charts, you would be coming close to 8 years, that is how much they were, and still are respected, even though, alas, they are not together :(.
I think we probably all remember the Hit song Gold, I mean it is the one that was played the most i think, and also the one that was so catchy.
I mean, the lyrics was so good, we all remember them, basically telling us we are what we are wanting to be, and nothing anyone else does will make us lower or different. This song was so good, and still is. you still hear it in all the 80's disocs, and sometimes the latest night clubs in remixed edition, because people...

Advantages: Jam packed full of top 10 smashes for every occasion Disadvantages: One or two weak links (5,6,7,8/
...Steps Gold. Sounds vaguely familiar to Abba Gold. And to a lesser extent, Gold: the very best of Perry Como (R.I.P). For my first opinion in (does some quick arithmetic) 53 days (ok that took quite a while to work out!), I thought I'd write about my favourite members of Planet Pop. The all singing (well except Lee) all dancing, all glittery Kings and Queens of cheese. First, a little background:
- Steps are: H (Ian Watkins), Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford Evans and Claire Richards.
- Steps had their first hit way back in November 1997, the now cringeworthy homage to line dancing that was 5,6,7,8. Went down in history as the biggest selling single of the 90s to never make the top 10.
- Heartbeat/Tragedy spent 8 weeks in the top 10 before reaching the number 1 spot, and went on to spend a colossal 15 weeks...
