Not a great fan of these albums in the slightest. I can be over critical where music is concerned as it is my main hobby and has been since i was around five. I am an avid collector of vinyls and cd's and love everything and anything from 1942 to present day....but i would give this album a miss.
If you go into some of the old time market halls and you are lucky enough (or unlucky enough, depends which way you look at it) to have a cd stall, you can find albums like this one.
They are produced using the original group's recordings that was probably recorded a long time after they actualy had a hit with it, thats how you can pick these albums up for a few quid.
I am not saying that this is how this one is produced, but there isnt many well known tracks for the average listener. There is "under the moon of love...curtis lee, mona lisa...carl mann, maybeline....chuck berry" but thats about it. It does have a redition of the great Sh,Boom....but this is sang by "The Chords" and we all know it was "The Crew Cuts" who actualy placed it in the charts.
Sorry, but this was bought for me as a thank-you...and it was a really nice gesture and i hate sounding ungreatful....but, Hey......it makes a great coaster.
