Advantages: Great acoustic music
Disadvantages: some tracks are not how you know them

...I don't often listen to Radio 1, but this one time I did, they were playing only tracks recorded in the live lounge - And I Loved It. the songs were not remastered and you could hear the lyrics and music without all the extras that make some people buy their tracks. The copies by artists of other artists songs are of superb quality, and some really make it their own. When I listen to them I just love the fact that they are live recordings with no additionals. Its great that artists are comfortable with singing live, acoustic, and other peoples songs. By listening to the tracks you can tell which artists can sing and which artists definately need to remaster their tracks to sell their singles/albums. Or which need to lip synch for their live gigs. ...I love the live lounge! I have to listen to it when ever possible so when they brought out a CD I just had to get it.. I first got hooked when I was at work and heard Jamie Cullum singing Frontin, it was so fantastic that I have had to listen ever since, for people who haven't listened to Jo Whiley on radio 1at lunchtime. She plays all your normal music in the charts but she also does the live lounge, this is were she invites bands and solo sings like the Arctic Monkeys and Lemar to cover other artists songs and their own with an acoustic live feel which makes your hair stand up on the back of your neck. The cover versions that the artists have done are brilliant! They have taken a song and made it their own, there are so many good artists on this album that I could sit here all day and waffle on about them. One of my favourites... Read review

Advantages: Varied popular songs plus some obscure ones
Disadvantages: The obscure songs are probably not to everyones taste

...This is the second CD I have brought from this series, I find these CD's a general overview of the years music relating to well known tracks to some that are unknown to me. This therefore make is a very good album to listen to as you know what you are getting from some of the songs. artists like Sterophonics, Muse, Athlete, The Libertines and so on are well known and will appeal to the majority. There are however some more obscure songs bands like Client, Bees, which although are not to bad for my taste they may not appeal to everyone. On the whole I have found this to be a good album in my collection and one that I will listen to if I can not make up my mind. If you like the main popular songs on this album then I would recommend to have this in your collection.... Read review
