Advantages: It's Buddy Holly - Enough Said! Disadvantages: Unfortunately, Buddy's guitar disappears behind the over dubbing
Unfortunately after Buddy's death, his Manager, Norman Petty hired the Fireballs, who overdubbed much of the original guitar and music by Buddy & the Crickets. The result is that the original music is so far back in the mix, they might as well have not bothered!
Buddy Holly was without doubt a musical genius, he was experiementing with elementary overdubbing before his untimely and tragic death. Therefore it is a great shame that Norman Petty treated his music this way.
If you want to hear the real Buddy Holly, then there are available collections which have the original undubbed music on them, but you may have to shop around. Buddy's music is far too important and indeed, enjoyable to be treated this way, and you the listener deserve the real thing, rather than a heavily overdubbed version. ...

A great role playing game suitable for ages 10+, I think younger children may have difficulity with some of the challenges including de-coding the golden compass' symbols which is required to progress in the game.
This game is taken from the movie & does include several movie clips, the graphics are good & the story easy to follow, it is easy to become all 3 playable characters Lyra, Pan & Iorek which is what you want from a role playing game.
The main character is Lyra who from the comfort of her college in Oxford embarks on an epic adventure that takes her to the icy kingdoms of the north where her goal is to save the children who have been kidnapped by the gobblers because if she does not rescue them they undergo something more painful than death!!!

souls are called daemons and these walk beside them in the form of animals. Children's daemons can shape shift till they find their true form adults cannot. The gobblers are an unknown entity (the film's bad guys) that are kidnapping children, for what reason we don't know why until later in the film. Lyra's friend Roger gets taken by these which lead Lyra on a quest to find him she is given the golden compass to help her . The other thing I found weird about this film is that the girl Lyra is supposed to be the chosen one but not much is really said about this so it seems to make no impact on you as an audience.
One of the villains - Nicole Kidman Mrs Coulter is an evil woman whom we find out is Lyra's mother , usually I am a fan of Kidman ,however I personally found her performance weak and character shallow in this film. Fans of Daniel ...
