Advantages: Classic electro album, remastering adds a real boost Disadvantages: None
Metamatic was the first solo outing from JohnFoxx after he split with Ultravox! Ultravox! went on to rather greater fame with the replacement lead singer, some Midge Ure guy but for Ultravox! fans, JohnFoxx was the real deal.
Metamatic deals with many themes and obsessions such as car crashes, Europe, relationships and too much J G Ballard and Philip K Dick which were bouncing around Foxx's head at the time as well as having elements of a story he was working on (and still is!). The lyrics are often full of grey cold imagery but all laced with an almost minimalist electro sound that was years ahead of it's time. It has to be said, he does also write some plain out and out baffling lyrics too - perhaps he uses the old Bowie 'cut up words' technique sometimes?
Unlike the previous CD release which was fine but sounded like it was ...
Advantages: Highly varied Disadvantages: A few weaker tracks
"Intuition" came out late in 2008, and came as the third album from the comedian/actor-turned R&B singer, Jamie Foxx. It has him continue the success of "Unpredictable" with an album full of tunes which shows that he is in tune with the modern trends of today's R&B (despite coming into it late).
1. "Just Like Me" (feat. T.I.)
Here you have the big singel from the album and it has Foxx working alongside one of the biggest Hip Hop acts of 2008 as he gets T.I. to do a few lines in the middle of this one, and he really adds to this gentle R&B track which fits right in with what is found in tracks by its leading acts.
**Four Stars**
2. "I Don't Need It"
This one is a very different tune for Jamie Foxx as it has rather experimental production to it. Timbo is behind all of this, and comes with an Electronica-inspired one to show that ...
Advantages: It does the job Disadvantages: it's expensive, and a little hard to read the small print
As you may all know by now, I?m blonde. I mean, I?ve told you often enough now haven?t I?
After my disastrous experience with ?John Frieda Sheer Blonde Styling Wax? I was reluctant to try any of his products again. With a little persuasion from my mate though, I went out and bought another of his products, this time with her recommendation.
What product am I talking about?
?John Frieda Sheer Blonde Golden Opportunity? that?s what.
Costing nearly 4 quid from Boots, I was thinking to myself that it was another waste of cash. The tube only holds 125ml, not much there for that price. I?m really tight with my money, I only buy things of luxury if I really need them, but peer pressure won me over on that particular day.
The tube is clear with purple coloured cream inside. Apparently the ultra violet formula helps counteract ...
