...without a doubt. Melancholy, too sentimental for words and depressing were my first thoughts, despite the upbeat intro before we hear about doom and more doom. The lyrics hardly inspire either, a countdown to the ultimate suicide ending with ‘There's just 5 hours left until you find me dead, There's just 4 hours left until you find me dead, There's just 3 hours left until you find me dead, There's just 2 hours left until you find me dead, There's 1 more hour and then you will find me dead, There's just’.....................and then, the more persistent beep of the heart monitor before it finally flat lines altogether. This track is just awful, dreary as hell and the most depressing thing I’ve ever heard! Come back Spice Girls, all is forgiven! Just too too sad :O(

Advantages: Everything about it is great Disadvantages: Nothing, even it being a shortish album just means that the great songs come round more often!

Strangest track on the album probably this one. A heady mix of Wurlitzer organ, wind up music box and vocoder vocals it’s a strange little funky track. The idea behind the lyrics is this, Golem I is a character from Jewish legend, made of clay to perform menial tasks for humans – however it goes mad and attacks it’s masters. The question is though, are computers Golem II? But you have to read the lyrics...

Advantages: Some really great songs Disadvantages: A few less great, and it's not the 4th bungle album
...for the grand finale. A good combination of being entertaining and good although if you didn’t like the first album at all you may disagree.
* Der Golem *
Boy this is strange one. Strange dark mumblings about the creature made of clay (=Golem, cf. Jewish legend) alternate with screamings of a similar nature. Bit disappointing really, not much to it.
* Experiment in Terror *
While this one is a classic! The second preview track that Fantômas released after Rosemary’s Baby gave me very high hopes for this album. Mixing raging distorted guitars, roomy clean guitars and synths, just enough drumming and Mike Patton alternating between crooning and screaming. I even like the lyrics and it’s a film score! Albeit not one I’ve heard of, but then I only recognise three films on the album! Faith No More/Bungle fans start here...
