Album Notes: Picking, strumming, singing and beeping their way back into folk and electronic music fans' hearts alike are Tunng, who return with their third album, 'Good Arrows'. It follows 2006's 'Comments Of The Inner Chorus' and finds founding members Sam Genders and Mike Lindsay at the centre of a sextet line-up. Sing-along choruses are complimented by steel-string harps, slide-guitars and cellos alongside electronic beats, blips and hand claps on this accomplished album. Singles include 'Bricks' and 'Bullets'.
Advantages: Great Folk album, Electronic and acoustic collaboration Disadvantages: none unless you don't like folk
...First of all, let me just say that tunng are a fantastic band who really deserve great success,
they take beautiful folk music and give it an electronic twist with the use of laptops and other experimental electronic devices!
Fantastic production provided by the multi talented lead singer, provides them with the finished article that they want, which is a bonus for all concerned.
This album is truly a step in the right musical direction, a natural progression of folk music in my opinion: bringing folk into the new age, and its about time!
this album contains one of my favourite songs of all time
'beautiful and light'
other standout tracks 'mother's daughter' and 'tale from the black' make this an album which is full of quality
a perfect album to chill out to!
Overall a fine piece of work by an incredible band

Advantages: Brilliantly broad and accessible Disadvantages: It has an end!
...The Wind Blows - starts off as a Blues track (homage to their 70's Blues-Rock roots methinx, but kicks into driving rock again afterwards.
A current affairs track (they pop up on recent albums) - with a gentle chorus that counterpoints the insistent drive of the verses.
8. Hope - Instrumental - just Alex playing a sweet acoustic number.
9. Faithless - moving number, excellent harmonies (all Geddy).
10. Bravest Face - a curious, almost comical style in the verses - very versatile vocals.
11. Good News First - contemporary AOR Rock, very lively.
12. Malignant Narcissism - Instrumental. Drum and Guitar backing whilst Geddy noodles on a Fretless Bass - his chops as sharp as ever.
13. We Hold On - powerful ending track as usual, in the same modern style as Good News First.
Overall - the best album of the decade for Rush - ok...

this album truly is a must for lovers of folk music who are not scared to hear a few electronic bleeps and buzzes.
Standout tracks ' Woodcat' and 'Jenny Again' are fantastically produced and listening to them on headphones is where you will grasp how much production work goes into a tunng album.
Truly an album which in time will be appreciated more and more.
