Album Notes: Picking, strumming, singing and beeping their way back into folk and electronic music fans' hearts alike are Tunng, who return with their third album, 'Good Arrows'. It follows 2006's 'Comments Of The Inner Chorus' and finds founding members Sam Genders and Mike Lindsay at the centre of a sextet line-up. Sing-along choruses are complimented by steel-string harps, slide-guitars and cellos alongside electronic beats, blips and hand claps on this accomplished album. Singles include 'Bricks' and 'Bullets'.
Advantages: Great Folk album, Electronic and acoustic collaboration Disadvantages: none unless you don't like folk
...First of all, let me just say that tunng are a fantastic band who really deserve great success,
they take beautiful folk music and give it an electronic twist with the use of laptops and other experimental electronic devices!
Fantastic production provided by the multi talented lead singer, provides them with the finished article that they want, which is a bonus for all concerned.
This album is truly a step in the right musical direction, a natural progression of folk music in my opinion: bringing folk into the new age, and its about time!
this album contains one of my favourite songs of all time
'beautiful and light'
other standout tracks 'mother's daughter' and 'tale from the black' make this an album which is full of quality
a perfect album to chill out to!
Overall a fine piece of work by an incredible band

The book I will now review is - ?Poison Arrows by Morag Prunty?
This is a shock book to me. I only picked this book up to read as it was on the top of the pile and my daughter was asleep and I didn?t want to disturb her?.. Not really a reason is it! But by god (excuse the pun), I?m glad I did!
I will try to do a general overview, there is rather a varied storyline happening so bear with me!
Christian is a cupid, this means he is a messenger of God and aids in the ?pairing? of suitable couples on earth, he is by design also gay, something that makes for some great lines from fellow cupids further on in the book, especially from a cupid called Mayday who has...

Advantages: You may gain insight into a turbulent time in English History - the War of the Roses (white and red) Disadvantages: It is not always easy to unravel who is on which side at which time; sentences can be long and complicated.
...projects and gives extracts, discussing many of his books as he puts them together with enthusiasm ~ As I knew the book had been published in 1889, but written "some time ago" according to the preface, I read through the journals to see how THIS book had developed.
There was comparatively nothing. Five references in passing. No outline and plot in advance.
In May 1883 there is the first mention in a letter to his friend W. E. Henley:
" . . . THE influenza has busted me a good deal; I have no spring and am headachy. So, as my good Red Lion Counter begged me for another Butcher's Boy - I turned me to - what thinkest 'ou? - to Tushery, by the mass! Ay friend, a whole tale of tushery. And every tusher tushes me so free, that may I be tushed if the whole thing is worth a tush. THE BLACK ARROW: A TALE OF TUNSTALL FOREST is his name: tush...
