A Good Day To Die A Good Day To Die
When Dennis Milne ? now living under an assumed identity in the Philippines ? hears that ... more
his old friend and colleague Malik has been gunned
down in a restaurant, he decides to go back to the
violent city he once called home, and bring the
murderer to book.  Milne arrives in a
pre-Christmas London which is cold and hostile.
But he is no longer a policeman; no longer charged
with keeping the peace and upholding the law.
Although his old friends at the King?s Cross
station do not know that Milne is back in town, it
soon becomes clear that his arrival has been
expected by men who are after his blood. Hungry
for revenge and determined to uphold his own very
rough brand of justice, Milne?s search for the
person behind his friend?s death leaves a trail of
death and destruction that is more wide-reaching
than even he could have expected ?

Not A Good Day To Die Not A Good Day To Die
At dawn on March 2, 2002, the first major battle of the 21st Century began. Over 200 ... more
soldiers of the 101st Airborne and 10th Mountain
Divisions flew into Afghanistan's Shahikot valley
- and into the mouth of a buzz-saw. They were
about to pay a bloody price for strategic,
higher-level miscalculations that underestimated
the enemy's strength and willingness to fight.
After the attacks of September 11, 2001, Coalition
forces quickly toppled the Taliban regime from the
seat of government. But, believing the war to be
all but over, the Pentagon and US Central Command
refused to commit the forces required to achieve
total victory in Afghanistan. Instead, they
delegated responsibility for fighting the war's
biggest battle to a tangle of untested units
thrown together at the last moment.  Then the
world watched as Anaconda seemed to unravel.
Denied the extra infantry, artillery and close air
support with which they trained to go to war, the
soldiers of this airborne assault fought for
survival in brutal high-altitude combat. Backed up
by a small, but crucial, team of special forces,
they were all that stood between the Coalition and
a military disaster.

Dying to sell this to you
Review of Dying To Say This To You (UK Special Edition) [ECD] - Sounds (The) by  daftks

Advantages: Good mixture of genres in one. Amazing energy.
Disadvantages: "Hurt you" is my least favourite. Otherwise none!

.... Not long, you say? But you will have so much fun bopping and rocking to the beat you wouldn't even realise that it only plays for 35 minutes or so. (I certainly didn't...!) Having hired the same producer that created THe Killers' debut, Jeff Saltzman, it definitely paid off by polishing the rough sound of their first album and gives it the 'oomph' and depth it needed. The result of 'Dying to say this to you' is music that you will happily be willing to blare it out of your house or car windows, day and night, all summer. While most bands experience a slump in sales when producing their second album because they either did not ultimately change too much from their first album, or they changed too much for their fans to realise otherwise. With the 80s synth-infused pop with rock of the modern days, the band has definitely delivered their promise... Read review

Death to the King of the Good Old Days!
Review of Up The Bracket - Libertines (The) by  pascalpedro

Advantages: Consistently brilliant, proper punk
Disadvantages: can take a bit to get into

...are pretty downbeat compared to the rest of the album. ‘Begging’ is a quality tune with an exceptionally strong chorus, with Doherty’s voice being quite a bit more calm than usual, and sounding surprisingly melodic at times. It’s not the most complex song harmonically with mainly simple guitar riffs, but it’s still pretty darn good. ‘The Good Old Days’ is a song that I am sure has been used in an advert on TV, but I can’t for the life of me think what it is. It’s the first song where the bass takes a major part in the accompaniment (especially in the verse). The chorus is an infectious mix of a quality riff; haunting backing vocals and a lead vocal part that may remind slightly of The Clash. The final track on the originally released album is ‘I Get Along’, a return to the upbeat, exciting chaos like ‘Up the Bracket’ and ‘Horrorshow’ show so... Read review

Die now, not another day
Review of Die Another Day - Original Soundtrack by  Alan-RMFB

Advantages: Welcome to Cuba, Bond Vs Oakenfold
Disadvantages: Die Another Day and Antonov

...To put it simlply, this is a poor soundtrack from David Arnold. The highlights of this album include the remix version of the "02. James Bond Theme Bond Vs Oakenfold" (DJ Remix Version) and the song "06. Welcome To Cuba" apart from that, this is a poor musical soundtrack. I listen to it from time to time but not a lot and not to every track. The tracks from the opening sequence (Tracks 04 & 05) are good. However "14. Antonov" from the big finale is far too long at 11 minutes. The CD is enhanced and has a few extras but nothing that you can;t get on the internet these days anyway. The inlay is poor and doesn't have as much info as the Remaster edition Bond Soundtracks have. This is only for those who buy the James Bond Soundtracks or are a fan of David Arnold... Read review
