Good News - Various Artists

Disadvantages: Too many

...After reading the paper the other week I was intrigued to read that various so called superstars had done some cover versions of famous hits. Not usually my cup of tea I might add, but since my son's girlfriend had bought him a copy I thought I give it a listen. There are 40 tracks on the two CD compilation, but quality wise I quite comfortably reduced that to a few tracks which caught my ear. Others amused slightly and some did not seriously get passed the first few bars. Astonishingly to me it was the artists whom I had already written off that surprised me most. The like's of Paolo Nutini totally shocked me since his version of the Madness song It must be Love turns out to be one of the better renditions in the collection. Advantages: Varied popular songs plus some obscure ones
Disadvantages: The obscure songs are probably not to everyones taste

...This is the second CD I have brought from this series, I find these CD's a general overview of the years music relating to well known tracks to some that are unknown to me. This therefore make is a very good album to listen to as you know what you are getting from some of the songs. artists like Sterophonics, Muse, Athlete, The Libertines and so on are well known and will appeal to the majority. There are however some more obscure songs bands like Client, Bees, which although are not to bad for my taste they may not appeal to everyone. On the whole I have found this to be a good album in my collection and one that I will listen to if I can not make up my mind. If you like the main popular songs on this album then I would recommend to have this in your collection.... Read review

Advantages: Great movie-songs collection
Disadvantages: the sound of the 60`s.70`s is different than today

...Probably the Best Compilation of movie songs that have ever been made!Having such a bouquet of artists such as John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John,James Brown,The Mammas and The Pappas,Barry White and all of the greatest performers ever, you really dive into a spectacular show of music and movie together..
