Advantages: Funk, damn loads of funk! Disadvantages: Not enough songs still played live
..., but the lyrics are somewhat more ominous, concerning heroin abuse in Los Angeles. No live show is ever performed without Under The Bridge in the encore, and with good reason too. It’s timeless. Get your lighters out (sob!).
Back to the funk, and after the superb Apache Rose Peacock and Naked In The Rain, we reach The Greeting Song. Upbeat, fast with a thumping tempo, this is a song that just makes you want to bounce. Frusciante’s playing is wonderfully dirty, very crisp. Only the chorus slows things down in this one, before a wonderful return to the crunchy verse.
These eight tracks are my favorite and give a good indication of what you’ll find on the album. But every song demnds a listen, brimming with brilliance. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a must own album, perhaps the best to have come out of the 90s. I would recommend...

Advantages: Everything about it is great. Disadvantages: Ha!
...You all know who are the Red Hot Chili Peppers are, don't you? No? You should do! They've been around for over 20 years now you know! Get with the times will ya? ;o)
For the benefit of those who aren't fortunate to have heard them, the band consists of Anthony Keidis (Vocalist), John Frusciante (Guitarist), Michael 'Flea' Balzary (Bassist) and Chad Smith (Drummer). The band has had many formations of members but this was the one at the recording of this album, and is like that at this present time.
This is the 4th Chili Peppers' album, and definitely the best (By The Way is good, but nothing compares to this).
I love all the tracks on this album, every single one has something special about it, something different which makes it seperate from all the others. There are 17 tracks in total, but I'm too lazy to review all of them...

Advantages: You might discover a gem Disadvantages: Too many boring songs
...throughout so I could just call it 'rap' and be done with it. Anyway, it's a a dancey number that is a bit choppy and too slow to be properly engaging, but you can bop your head to it. <3 out of 5>
8. Crazy Sound Boy - SugarMinott
A happy, slightly mental reggae track about "dem eejut sound boy". Don't expect to understand it if you're not a reggae enthusiast, but it's chilling enough and catchy enough to force you to turn it up. Only possible fault is that it's a little too long. <4 out of 5>
9. Caught Up - Ol' Dirty Bastard, Mack 10 & Royal Flush
This track was a let down because I expected Ol' Dirty Bastard to have a bigger role but he ends up just rapping for about twenty seconds. Instead, we get a weak, middle-of-the-road hip-hop song with two boring raps by Mack 10 and Royal Flush and an annoying falsetto chorus. Only interesting...
