Goodbye Blue And White - Less Than Jake

Advantages: A couple of tracks are quite enjoyable.
Disadvantages: The album on the whole is really rather disappointing.

...'In With The Out Crowd' is the most recently released album from Less Than Jake. At two years old it isn't exactly 'brand new' any more, but the newest nonetheless and will remain so until they release their eighth studio album later this year. It is my least favourite of all of the albums from the Floridian Ska Punk band Less Than Jake and in truth is not one that I hold in particularly high regard at all. That said, it is by no means a bad album, it's just not a great one. The album is really rather lacklustre and none of the tracks present are particularly exciting at all. The first single lifted from this album was 'Everything Is Overrated' for example which in itself is a really average track. ...I own every Less Than Jake album released and for me, this is my faveourite one!! This cd is everything you could want and more from Less Than Jake. There isn't a track I would skip on this album, which we can all agree is rare to find an album where we like every song! People just see Less Than Jake as any other American punk band, but if you sit back and listen to the lyrics they really are genius, and are very true! Less Than Jake create ballads in their own punk way, Ghosts of me and you, Look what happened and brightest bulb has burned out are all ballad type songs, but add a few trumpets and 4 American punk gods and you have yourself some very successful music! Less Than Jake are very talented and I don't think they quite get the credit they deserve! This album is incredible!... Read review

...In my opinion, Less than Jake must be the most patchy punk / ska band in the world. They do have some really amazing songs, but also a load of not so good ones too. This album (the only one I've ever seen belongs to me), is made up of songs which have been previously released on out of print and limited edition vinyls. Despite this, I've heard many of them before. The problem with Less Than Jake, is that they never seem to be able to release an album which has all new songs. For example, this album has 24 tracks, but 12 of those I've already heard on other albums of theirs (if you have 'The Pezz Collection' I wouldn't recommend buying this). It would be nice for a change to be able to buy some totally new stuff (actually, I think that maybe their new album (Borders and Boundaries) is just that, all new), so nevermind. As I said...
