Goodbye Mr Chips.....classic

Advantages: Classic film
Disadvantages: old fashioned, watched it on video, couldnt find it on DVD.

and the lack of male leadership in the school, Mr Chips was called out of retirement and offered the post of Headmaster. With a photo of his late wife under his arm, Chips enters the headmaster's office and says " you were right my dear, I am headmaster now". Review of Goodbye Mr Chips (DVD)

goodbye

Advantages: 3 greta original tracks, great musicianship
Disadvantages: live songs are a bit of a let down, only 6 songs

goodbye is the final album by 60s super-trio Cream. the album consists of three live tracks 'im so glad', 'politician' and 'sitting on top of the world' and three new studio efforts. the highlight is undoubtedly 'badge', co-written by clapton and george harrison. 'doing that scrapyard thing' is a jack bruce song that serves as a pre-cursor to his later solo work, and features lyric by poet pete brown. the final song is 'what a bringdown' which is another very good song. the quality of the three studio tracks is excellent and typifies the kind of originality and song writing skill that defined cream as one of the greatest bands of their generation. unfortunately the live tracks dont quite live up to the rest of the album. the recording quality isnt as good as on previous live disk 'wheels of fire' although i can't argue that cream aren ...

Marlowe meets Terry Lennox outside the club; he is a drunk and has many scars on his face. The two men become friends over the next few months, though the friendship is an 'uncomfortable' one. However, late one night, Lennox turns up at Marlowe's home asking for a ride to the airport; Marlowe agrees as long as he doesn't know why his friend his running away.
