If you've only ever dicovered Elton John in the 80's, 90's or noughties then you'll be familiar with songs such as 'I'm still standing', 'Nikita' and 'Can you feel the love tonight'.
Yes, Elton John's dire outpourings have spanned many decades but there was a time when his outpourings were far from dire. This time was the 70's.
After all, you wouldn't get established on the pop scene with rubbish like that so he must have done something good at some time.
'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' shows us exactly why he is still around today and considered a legend. It's just a shame he couldn't keep up the standard.
This album is excellent, all bar a couple of dodgy tracks. It features some classics such as 'Candle in the Wind' and 'Bennie and the Jets' and the whole album has a melancholy tone.
Ideal for chill-out, hippie-style parties and barbecues, this is a classic. One for every music lovers collection.
