dream come true. A songwriter, home-producer and vocalist whose laptop hit, the title track of this album, got released by Ministry of Sound to become one of 2001's biggest hits. Bedingfield's style could be described as Prince covering a Michael Jackson song whilst dabbling in UK Garage. "James Dean (I Wanna Know)" is a poppy piece of eighties soul-funk in the vein of Cameo but with a distinctive, fresh edge that sets it apart from countless other 80s' revivalists hanging around the charts. We see a softer side of Bedingfield on "If You're Not the One", a ballad which could easily be dismissed as generic album-filling slush but with a few listens the well-crafted song writing shines though and shows Michael Jackson how hisInvinciblealbum should have sounded. One tiny gripe about the album is the re-recorded version of "Gotta Get Thru This", while sounding far more polished and professional than before, it lacks the infectious raw groove of the original. Aside from that one small thing, the album is a positive look at how pop music should be made with a strong emphasis on the artist's music and ability rather than image. --David Trueman

This is the opposite to Gotta Get Thru This. This is about him trying to get a girlfriend rather than keeping one. This song is very similar to Blown It Again because the music is practically the same and has the same annoying rapper in the middle just waiting to spoil the song!

Advantages: catchy pop songs Disadvantages: bit annoying
I was despeate to get my hands on the daniel Bedingfeild album.. Everytime I heard it advertised on TV, I would be singing along and promising myself I would go and buy it. After severral weeks of preomises, hubby bought it for me, along with a Blue album-but I will never admit to that.
I opened it pronto, discarded the CD in the player and popped Daniel in. Well, the CD. I wouldn't mind popping daniel in too, but I guess either he or hubby might ... ...sultry on the front. Its a black and white photo, and he does lookk kinda cute. It has the 'sprecial edition' label on it, and also lists the songs on the CD that have been released as a single-'If you're not the one', 'Gottaget thru this', 'I can't read you', 'James Dean', and 'Never Gonna leae your side'. A quite remarkable collection, all superb songs. So, the CD starts playing song number one.

...returning Daniel Bedingfield's album - Gotta get thru this to my CD player for the umpteenth time I decided to have a go and writing a review about it and 'spread the joy' of his album!
This album explores a multitude of genres, the tracks range from the dance/club type to tracks with a more rockier feel with a few ballads thrown in. The album is excellent and upon listening to it you wouldn't think it was created in Daniel's own bedroom (in his ... ...Dean (I Wanna Know)

This track is very good. It was Daniel's first single and the song that first got him noticed and everyone talking about. This was his first number one single. It has an excellent base on this song and it is very addictive. Once you hear it you will have it in your head for the rest of the day. Definately one to turn the volume right up.
4. Right Girl 6/10
This is not one of the best songs on the ... ...this song. Good.

...from other people that they won’t walk in on them.” Don’t get me wrong, there have been some great songs recorded in people’s bedrooms, but for every “Your Woman” (White Town), there’s a “GottaGetThru This” (DanielBedingfield).
Luckily, the production isn’t really that important. These are raw acoustic tracks; if Beck was a painter, there’d be his preliminary sketches. He’s just honing his skills with these songs, playing around with some quiet acoustic stuff, as well as heavier scuzzy guitars and some experimentation with vocal effects.
Unfortunately however, when a singer chooses to forego production for a rawer feel, the quality of the actual songs and vocal perfomance becomes much more important, and, as anyone familiar with Beck’s later works will be aware, his lyrics don’t make a lot of sense most of the time, and his vocals...

So I emptied my pocket and there went my change. I walked home and in dying pain went straight to my room and picked up my CD Walkman. I opened the cool blue case and took out CD 2 as this was the disc with my air needed tunes.
Disc 1 has the sort of slow, beaty pop songs. I never listen to it much, but I did a few times and got sick of it, it seems to have a job, make you go mental!

...After much anticipation, Daniel is back with his second album 'Second first impression'. Not that he needs a second impression; Bedingfield has come a long way since making tracks from his bedroom. Not only has Daniel's debut album 'GottaGetThru This' won critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic, but more importantly, it's been my favourite album over the past 2 years! The reason? It has a mix of everything from rock to R&B, something to suit every mood!
So as far as I'm concerned, Bedingfield had a lot to live up to. A near fatal car crash in New Zealand was a devastating glitch in the process, but that hasn't stopped him; in fact, it's inspired him. With the help of respected producer Jack Joseph Puig, an expert mixer who has worked with Green Day and No Doubt, 'second first impression' is just as it sounds; establishes just...
