After returning Daniel Bedingfield's album - Gotta get thru this to my CD player for the umpteenth time I decided to have a go and writing a review about it and 'spread the joy' of his album!

This album explores a multitude of genres, the tracks range from the dance/club type to tracks with a more rockier feel with a few ballads thrown in. The album is excellent and upon listening to it you wouldn't think it was created in Daniel's own bedroom (in his boxershorts)!

And on a side note the cover and inlay is pretty fab too. Some really gorgeous pictures inside in addition to lyrics so you can sing along!

Blown it again, and Right Girl are the tracks I would consider as having the RnB feel. Blown it again introduces the album nicely, hooking the listener from the first track. The beat is great and has some rap which fits nicely. Right Girl also has a touch of rap and in my opinion makes the track fit together. The lyrics are very thought-provoking though I could say the same for each and every track!

James Dean and Friday have the rockier edge. Both were released as singles though James Dean fared better in the charts than Friday. Though in my opinion both are great, a chance to turn up the music and have a good dance about. I Can't Read you also has that rock feel and is tremendously upbeat. Although only reaching number 5 in the charts it is still extremely popular being requested on radio shows and such. The song is 'exciting' and just makes you want to move.

Gotta get thru this is the dance track of the album and although I myself am not a huge fan of dance music I do love this track. It reached number 1 in the charts so the chances are you have heard it already and know how addictive the song is and the urge you get upon hearing it to just turn up the volume!

Then we come to the ballads, If your not the one, He don't Love you like I love you, Never gonna leave your side and Without the Girl. All are extremely soppy but I love them all the same! Daniel sings with heart-renching emotion and it is obvious that he means what he sings. The lyrics are again excellently written and Daniel sings beautifully.

Honest Questions although not quite a ballad is slow and gentle. The lyrics are beautiful and were written by Daniel when he was only 15. It is hard to believe that someone so young could write such lyrics and is really worth a listen. Beware possible tear-jerking track! Being a huge fan of Daniel's I have an idea of how much this track means to him and with that and the actual lyrics it never fails to set me off with tears!!

Girlfriend is a great track. I'm not really sure how to define it as it is similar to the ballads yet a little more upbeat.. If anyone can put it better let me know lol. Anyway the track is great and easy to listen to. It is simple and is of things we can relate to when we first fall in love. A nice song, that makes you feel good when you can sing along with it.

Inflate my ego has the rocky feel again though theres a bit of 'something else' too. I have left this track till the end because I think it is an awesome song. It is one of my favourite tracks from the album, and is filled with so much energy you can't help but love it. Another one to listen to with the volume right up!

There are also the acoustic tracks Gotta Get Thru This, James Dean (I Wanna Know), and If You're Not The One. In my opinion they are better than the originals as they give the chance for Daniel to show off his voice. They show that Daniel does not need masses of music in order to 'fool' the listener that he can sing. All he needs is his voice. He sings these tracks beautifully and they make a nice variation from the regular versions of the tracks!

All in all the album is a very passionate, romantic and even spiritual record. It is extremely well written and Daniel's voice is simply amazing. He sings with heart-felt emotion and it certainly shows that each and every track has been written from the heart. The album it very original and gets better the more times you listen to it. You might also like to know that Daniel has performed his beat-box on every track. Listen out for it, in some of the tracks its extremely hard to spot!!

The album still remains near the top of the charts despire being out for well over a year. I strongly recommend you add this album to your record collection. You wont be dissapointed!

On a side note this was what I consider my first "proper" op! Hope I didn't do too bad a job of it!!
