Advantages: good mix of music Disadvantages: absolutely none!
...I could not, even if I tried, write anything negative about this double CD featuring Aaron Neville.
This man's voice is phenomenal and wonderfully unique.
He is originally from New Orleans and has a wonderful New Orleans Rhythm and Blues sound. His voice will reach your inner being every time he opens his mouth and a note comes out!
There is a wide spectrum throughout this particular collection. We have the up-tempo and foot-tapping beat of 'Oh happy Day' & 'I saw the light' to the sultry, moody sound of 'Ave Maria' and 'Amazing grace.'
The rest of the songs included in these 2 CD's are:
What a friend we have in Jesus, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Morning has Broken, If I had a Hammer, Let it Be , Mary don't you Weep, Steer me Right, Gotta Serve Somebody, A Change is Gonna Come, I Believe, Let Go, Banks of the River Jordan...

Advantages: A great album to get you in the mood for a night out Disadvantages: A couple of weak links
...the world.
“Kiss” by Prince has long been a favourite track of mine, but I do prefer the voice of Tom Jones for this track. Prince, despite having a very high voice, manages to bring life to this song, and the track begins with him moaning before the introduction of the music. Kissing noises can be heard at various points during the song, which is a fast paced track, and is really made the stonker it became, by the wonderful voices of the backing singers.
“It’s raining men” by The Weather Girls, again takes us back to the early 80’s, and is another fast paced track, which opens with the sound of thunder, before the music soars upwards, reaching a crescendo, over which the sounds of the female vocalists can be heard, before they begin singing. Their voices are soulful, and have hints of Aretha Franklin, mixed amongst their throaty tones...

Advantages: beautiful pop Disadvantages: what happened the next 20 years afterward
.... The constructs that Michael created to make great pop (hybridation after hybridation and the eternal search too please millions) are too ephermeral to make an enduring body of work with out having the work suffer. He saw that in order to make more and more and more people happy, he had to limit being himself. So he slightly bleached his sound, created singles that were aimed at markets instead of individual expression and made a bargain with himself that made Mr. Faust's deal with ol Lucifer seem like a steal.
The payoff was thriller, a massive, verbose and conquering pop concoction and capitalist masterstroke that changed how black artists created music and how those creations were viewed ever since. The problem with Thriller, as well as most of Michael Jackson's music that came forth since, is that it was one of the first major soul albums...
