Advantages: Great album and music Disadvantages: Nothing at all
...my opinion? Well basically 'I Gotta Tell You' is Samantha Mumbas album that is out now in the shops, although I think it has been out for quite a while, it may have even been released late last year, I decided to buy the album after I fell in love with Sam's latest single 'Baby Come On Over'
I got this album a couple of weeks back now and have been listening to it ever since, it really is quite superb and unique, I love Samantha Mumba, all of her ... ...for each track!!)
1. Gotta Tell You
This was Ms Mumbas first ever single, may I also mention at this point that this is her first ever album too. This song made a great impression of the young solo artist and already, like many others I liked her as well as the song. The song was a very sucessful hit with a great video to go with it, I couldn't wait for more like this one. This tune had a great rythym and the lyrics were hard to get out of your ...

Advantages: nice clean cut girl with talent Disadvantages: marketed at teenage girls
...she released her debut album Gotta Tell You (on the Polydor label) and this was met with almost immediate praise in the music press both sides of the pond. Her style is not unique but it does set her aside from your typical teen-star churned out hits! For me she has a clear pop background but has blended in a funky mowtown vibe and maybe this is her black roots showing. Some tracks sound too much like very “teenage-girlie” music and I ... ...target audience. I don’t know how much input SM has in her music but she is not afraid to sample. This, if done properly, can be effective and SM has done it well. It is this sampling and a 60s sound that will make this album appeal to older generations above teenyboppers!
As per usual I refuse to run through them one by one. Honestly I don’t really see the point. But if I were to make an exception this would be the one! The album is ...

Advantages: great selection of songs brilliant songs Disadvantages: her voice doesn't always work well with songs
Samantha Mumba is a young Irish singer doing excellent at the moment with her new film Time Machine coming out in America and music still playing everywhere. She has had many top ten hits from this particular album, her only one which she has made abonus versio nof to. I am going to review the original first one though. TRACKLISTING 1.Gotta Tell You (3:20) 2.Body II Body (3:57) 3.Baby Come On Over (3:03) 4.Isn't It Strange (3:29) 5.Lately ... ...Back To Your Love (3:34) 8.Lose You Again (4:09) 9.Feelin' Is Right (3:49) 10.Never Meant To Be (4:09) 11.Believe In Me (3:31) 12.Til The Night Becomes The Day (3:43) TRACK INFO 1.GOTTA TELL YOU-This was Sam's desbut single, a very simple but great song. I bought this when it first came out, I like it apart from the fact it is so low and hard to sing I can't sing to it, which is a big annoyance to me. The background music seems to build ...

She told me Review ofGotta Tell You - Samantha Mumbaby

Advantages: Lot's of good track my favourite being Lately Disadvantages: MAAAY and BAAAABAAAY get a bit boring and it sat in wardrobe for to long
We've listened to the debut single. We've danced to the follow up. And now it's time to judge the debut album offering from Samantha Mumba. The 17-year-old releases "Gotta Tell You " hotly on the heels of the singles, "Gotta Tell You" and "Body II Body". I have never been a big lover of pop but after seeing this lurking in the bottom of our wardrobe for a month or so I decided to put it on the stereo for a listen.
Well is it any good? In short, ... ...of the title track, "Gotta Tell You," which is poppy R&B at its best. This seems to be a genre Mumba is very good at, and many of the album tracks follow a similar style. As a contender to the teen queen crown, Mumba is keen to highlight the fact she co-wrote seven of the 15 tracks, including "Gotta Tell You". "Body II Body" is probably the most mature sounding song on the album, with its sexy backing music and raunchy lyrics. Even David Bowie approves ...

Advantages: Great Choruses, Great Production Disadvantages: Weak verses and 1 or 2 poor tracks
...track-by-track run down:
1. Gotta Tell You:
Well this one you probably know. It was Samantha's first single, and made her an instant favourite... has a great vibe to it, and a killer chorus that will stick in your head all day. 5/5
2. Body II Body:
This was the second single - i love this track. It's the one with the sample of Ashes to Ashes. The sample is well used, and blends in excellently with the track. This one's really funky. 5/5
3. Baby ... ...greatest track. 3/5
14. Gotta Tell You (Teddy Riley Remix):
This is brilliant, and I now prefer it to the other (original version), it's more americanized than the original too. 5/5
15. Signed Sealed Delivered:
Another cover - and a great version. Not really updated, but it shows Sam's influences. 4/5
... that's it!
Much better than your average pop album, worth buying even to say you did - this girl is going to get bigger and bigger and i'll ...
