This is the genius album Grace by Jeff Buckley. I will start by saying that many people that listen to, have heard of or like Jeff Buckley will often say that the only reason that he is so well loved is that he is dead. "Yes" I reply. There is a fact in life that for any artist, be it music, painting, design or being able to jump really really high, the moment the artist dies, he/she becomes much more popular than before. My friend Rob (who is a musician of considerable talent) said the very same thing to me just the other day. I would agree with this and embrace this every step of the way. The same is true of so many artists that it is not worth worrying about.
The album consists of ten beautiful tracks, these are… MOJO PIN GRACE LAST GOODBYE LILAC WINE SO REAL HALLELUJAH LOVER, YOU SHOULD HAVE COME OVER CORPUS CHRISTI CAROL ETERNAL LIFE DREAM BROTHER
There is no weak link here; all of these songs are strong, full of emotion and ready to act as a security blanket for me no matter what state of mind I am in. This is a good album to listen to if you are experiencing any of the following… 1. A death 2. A birth 3. A marriage 4. Happiness 5. Sadness 6. Regret 7. Anger 8. Solitude 9. A party 10. An orgasm (In no particular order!!!)
I first heard this album… I can't remember when but it's at least three years ago and I listened to it constantly for one year without listening to much else. I then got a little fed up with it as it was the only thing I was singing at every point during the day and the first thing I thought about when I woke up. However I have been listening to it on and off for the last six or seven months when I need to feel like any of the above!!
I have some great memories created by this album and some more to come I am sure. The greatest memory is from when I first started to listen to the album and I would sing any of the songs to my girlfriend (current partner but no longer have the voice for it due to smoking (don't smoke kids))
I cannot give this music enough praise. I know it's a very personal thing but I would urge anyone to check out Jeff Buckley as it may mean as much to you as it does to me. If not then I'm sorry you had to read this annoying review!!

Buckley had the voice of an angel!! I was gutted when he died - he had so much more to give. Sorry for H rating though but I defiantely think a lot more could be said about him and this album - unlike your Tuirn Brakes review, i get the feeling you presume readers are familiar with Buckley's work, and not everyone is. Shocking but true :-)

this is one of those albums that i always hear about and mean to check out, like "revolver" and "dark side of the moon", i'll probably get it one of these days. and you're right about how artists are suddenly valued once they die!
