The band are made up like so: Nina Persson - vocals Peter Svensson - guitar Bengt Lagerberg - drums Magnus Sveningsson - bass Lasse Johansson - keyboard, acoustic guitar This album was produced in June 1998, when the group collaborated with long-time producer Tore Johansson at his personal studio, Country Hell, which is located in Malmo, Sweden and recorded this album, "Gran Turismo". "Gran Turismo" then went on to reach more than 2.5 million sales worldwide. Advantages: Happy vocals, lyrics and melodies

...After only a quick listening to The Cardigan's latest album, Gran Turismo, it becomes quite apparent that they've been listening to more than a few Massive Attack and Portishead cuts. Best known for their super catchy hit 'Lovefool', The Cardigans have followed up their earlier pop success with a darker record. This pop, downbeat electronic work blasts off with 'Paralyzed'. Grinding feedback buzzes along as a programmed drum beat and countless synthesized effects drift across the landscape. Such slow, downbeat work is the norm on Gran Turismo. Nina Persson, the group's lead singer, is the really highlight of the album. Her sparse lyrical arrangements are delivered flawlessly. The majority of the album may be suspiciously electronic, but Persson's voice, as always, manages to cut through each song with incredible warmth and emotion... Read review

It is a two-CD album and is well worth the price that you pay for it. £12.99 at CD-WOW.com CD 1 1. Queen - Tie Your Mother Down - 4:00 This is a great start to a great album. It starts off with that very recognisable tune from 'We Will Rock You.' Then the guitar starts and then more guitar then the lyrics. This is a special air guitar edit as the guitar is played by Brian May (kind of remastered version); it is a timely reminder of how good Queen were. 9/10 2. Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water - 5:19 A great guitar intro (you will hear this a lot) has a steady beat that continues throughout the whole song. 50 seconds... Read review
