The last Album First Band Of the Moon was one of my favourite ones. So I didn’t hesitate to buy the latest Album Gran Turismo by The Cardigans.
*the band The swedish band started with their career in the year 1992 in Jonkopping, Sweden. After the five members of the band Lars-Olof Johansson, Bengt Lagerberg, Magnus Sveningson, Peter Svensson and singer Nina Persson went to Malmö they get their first contract and produced the album Emmerdale. One of their most famous songs is the song Lovefool from the Album First Band of the moon – most of you will know this song as part of the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. The Cardigans also took part in a short scene of Beverly Hills 90210.
*what is special? In my opinion this Album is a very special one. On one side you will listen to very slow and emotional songs on the other side you will enjoy dancing with the Cardigans and their pop-songs. The whole Album is a perfect mix of this styles and reminds me to my favourite artist Heather Nova. Also the voice of lead singer Nina Persson is wonderful. But it is not only the perfect sound of the Cardigans. It is also worthy to listen to the lyrics. The lyrics are significant and allow the listener to add his own feelings and emotions to them.
*the slow songs The Album openes with Paralyzed. This is a very melancholy and slow song with a lot of emotions. You will enjoy the leading voice of Nina Persson – you will enjoy the yourney of dreams. If you like this song, you will also enjoy listening to the songs Explode and Higher. These are my favourite songs – reflective music for dreams and feelings. The last emotional song is Junk Of The Hearts.
*the fast songs Instead of playing slow song the Cardigans have also other talents. Listen to Erase / Rewind and you will know what I mean. It is a very fast and melodic song going directly into the blood. If you like songs like this you will love the songs Starter, Hanging Around, Marvel Hill, My Favourite Game and Do you Believe. I think that Erase / Rewind and My Favourite Game are the best songs of the fast ones. The Beats, the voices and the speed – everything works together as one.
*the last song The last song NIL is quite different to the other songs. It is an instrumental one that gives you the chance to think about the whole Album and the journey you have just made – a perfect end.

I think that every Albums by the Cardigans should be recommended. But if you are not sure to buy one – buy this one: Gran Turismo. In my eyes it is the best Album the Cardigans ever made and the absolutely highlight of their career. The Cardigans developed their one style through the last years and sound now more perfect than ever.
Sum If you like the voice of Nina Petterson and search for an Album with a pretty good mix of slow and fast song – buy it!
