Advantages: Unusual, highly talented flat picking guitarist

...There are well over a 100 possible review slots for Country Guitar on Ciao, and yet I can only find one review. I am not therefore expecting this review of little-known Marcel Dadi to be exactly what you might call a "whizz bang" in terms of general interest. Never mind!!!! Marcel Dadi was a highly talented "flat picking" guitar specialist, and a personal friend of Chet Atkins. Sadly Marcel perished with all the 229 others aboard the Boeing 747 TWA Flight 800 which plunged into the sea off Long Island New York in July 1996 when he was at the relatively tender age of 44. At that tragic time, he had just been honoured as a new entrant in the Nashville County Music Hall of Fame and was on his was back to France after the ceremony. Advantages: superb songs, lyrics and vocals
Disadvantages: takes a few listens

...and Achtung Baby). Throughout this song you can close your eyes and imagine The Edge is playing the guitar. Where Hot Fuss was heavily influenced by the synthesiser sound, Sam's Town is rock led with drums and lead guitar at the forefront (with the addition of strings, saxophone and trombone and of course the synthesiser doesn't miss out either). Ronny Vannucci (drummer) must have been having a perennial wet dream recording and performing this album because in Hot Fuss, drums were largely an afterthought although in Sam's Town they are in your face. This is an album where The Killers are trying to return to their Amercian roots albeit they just cannot let go of the UK music scene and the influence this has had on them. Advantages: Mainly good fun and entertaining.

...but it's spoiled a bit by some of the digital samples and Rap sequences, not as good as the original. It got to Number Seven in the UK singles chart in 1987. Track 16 REDNEX - COTTON EYE JOE Manufactured Swedish novelty band Rednex started a fad of Country House music with this. A high energy blend of Country and Rave/Dance music, it's not for the faint hearted. Number One in the UK singles chart in 1994. Track 17 LOS DEL RIO - MACARENA This is the Bayside Boys Mix of this hit form the Spanish music music duo. Well produced Euro Disco tune if you like that sort of thing, annoying if you don't.
