Advantages: Incredibly Astonishing Production, Unmatched and Intelligent Lyricism, Political Social Consciousness, Creativity Disadvantages: Nothing... zip.. nada.... zero... ziltch
...be put on repeat to be fully appreciated, and im sure Chuck D himself is proud.
"Assassination" is a clever mix of politics, socially-aware lyrics, and street poetry. Featuring saddening production, the lyrics themselves speak and strike like thunderbolts. The mood of the song is sad, and the lyrics are equally depressing. Even though the song is short, it is also nothing "short" of classic, no pun intended, as it does its job, and does it well.
Besides being just a bunch of politically aware and intelligent emcees, M-1 and Stic.man prove that they can also be creative on "Mind Sex".
Stepping away from the political and knowledgable lyrics, they speak their own honest, deep opinions as great human beings on this song, as Dead Prez speak about the difference between sex and the impact of conversation and communication...

Advantages: Nas spits magical, street poetry over AMAZING N.Y. production that blows my STATE OF MIND! Disadvantages: Apparently nothing / Nas may never re-write a classic rap album like 'ILLMATIC' again.

8.: We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off - Jermaine Stewart
Fairly typical eighties pop tune which achieved great success, albeit he never had another hit afterwards. Very strange lyrics which was in keeping with this huge musical decade.
9.: Hey You The Rock Steady Crew - Rock Steady Crew
By far The Rock Steady Crews biggest hit, they took a lead from Living in a Box by singing about themselves. This effort signified their peak in the charts.
10.: Mickey - Toni Basil
I never really got the grasp of this first time round, and when it was covered a few years back it merely confirmed my initial suspicions. Promoted as a cheerleader type song, but sadly it never got me cheering.
11.: 9 To 5 - Sheena Easton
The theme from the TV programme of the same name helped Sheena to conquer the US market...
