Our Lady Peace are a Canadian rock band which have had a fair amount of local success, but are little known this side of the pond. I enjoyed their two previous albums ('Happiness is not a fish that you can catch' and 'Spiritual Machines'). Spiritual Machines was a concept album which actually worked quite well, based upon an old Ray Kurzweil book about how Machines will out evolve us.
However, since then, their guitarist left on 'artistic grounds', and it shows. Our Lady Peace have always been soft/cheesy rock, but with this they have crossed the line, with songs like 'Innocent', you feel like there is little left to say other than cliches.
I had been waiting for this album eagerly for a long time before it was released, but I have to say that I am dissapointed. It isn't that it is a really bad album, but I won't listen to it frequently like the two which precede it.
