Great Balls Of Fire - Jerry Lee Lewis

...Triumph Or Agony is another great CD from Rhapsody of Fire, formerly known as Rhapsody. This album makes use of a diverse range of sounds, from 50-piece choirs to large orchestras and even Christopher Lee's voice. The epic 'film-score' sound one expects from Rhapsody of Fire is being paraded here again, and it is in great form. The album contains, as per usual, a variety of songs, from fast power metal songs to their slower, more symphonic variants, and as appears to be becoming a pattern, there's a long song which changes its style many times during its 15+ minutes duration If you've liked previous Rhapsody albums, this is a sound purchase, featuring all of the epic symphonic power metal we have become used to enjoying. Advantages: Great music & performances. Fun & energetic
Disadvantages: Too much dialogue before/during tracks, which can become irritating

..., written in Shakespearean language, as is most of the dialogue in the show. Great Balls Of Fire The Jerry Lee Lewis hit is used to great effect when the ship is hit by an asteroid storm. It's really more plot-based and spoken than sung, detailing Gloria's animosity towards the Captain and her flight from the ship. Good Vibrations A Beach Boys classic, used to introduce Prospero, Ariel and Miranda. Captain Tempest and Cookie are struck by Miranda's beauty whilst Ariel uses his sensors to find the escaped Science Officer and is sent to fetch her. Tempest's voice is lovely and soft here, and the crew provide lovely backing vocals that make the song somehow futuristic with their harmonies. Advantages: A great live track
Disadvantages: Singing the blues !!!

...Linda Gail Lewis is a younger sister of the great Jerry Lee Lewis and has inherited the same piano playing style but certainly has her own vocal strengths that compliment Van Morrison's more gruff almost "pub singer" style of nowadays (I can't wait for all the enraged Van fans writing in after that comment). "Let's Talk About Us" is taken from their forthcoming album "You Win Again", released on the 25th September, and is a great slice of country rock and roll, "Singing the Blues" is as bad as you could imagine but the third track, a live version of "The Ballard of Jesse James" featuring Lonnie Donegan and Chris Barber is much better and shows just what Van the man is still capable of....
