Advantages: Nice guest rappers like Ghostface and Raekwon turn up at AFTERPARTY and THE TURN respectively. Disadvantages: The lyrics from Method man are disgusting and the musical production is revolting! SAY WHAT?
....
The beats provided by Rick Rock ( real name: Rick Thomas ) for Sharrick and Mook Inc. is a composite of synthesised drum loops, drum claps and digital bass lines. The drum and bass synthesisers in Rick Rock's production sound like they were created on a Commodore 64 computer or Sega Mega Drive games console. Nevertheless, these musical elements are surprisingly decent if not magnificent in sound and actually compensate for the useless performances by Method Man and Streetlife. Rick Rock's instrumental is electronic with a commercial feel to it and its atmospheric effect on the track is up-tempo and animated. Thus, the musical input is quite interesting to my eardrums but not convincing enough to garner The Prequel repeated listens from me.
Overall, this is not a spectacular music track, but remember Ciao readers...

Advantages: Brilliant mowtown tunes from the Jackson 5 Disadvantages: No lyrics in the album cover
...This album holds all the greatest songs by the Jackson 5's which is made by The Ultimate Collections group that have differnt albums made for the Commodores, The Four Tops and other great hit groups.
All the songs on this album are a hit with brilliant clarity that is like hearing them play live in your living room.
The album booklet has a biography about the Jackson 5 written by David Ritz. (Author of Divided Soul: The Life of Marvin Gaye - and many other biographies)
The only thing which I think is lacking is the lyrics for the songs which are not here. The album booklet also has some lovely black and white pictures of the whole group.
This musically talented family were such a joy to listen to all those years ago, and still to this day. They are amazing and this album does justice to all their great songs...

Advantages: fantastic, melodic metal that kicks rear end Disadvantages: none. well, possibly Chuck Mosely.
...… to Faith No More. A stereotype “credible” band, they managed to have an enormous cult following and just a smattering of chart success- just enough to pay for the next two albums, so to speak. If you read the blurb in the CD case, there’s one of those emetic “president-of-the-fan-club” outpourings about the full history of the band musically, and how marvellous they were, and they were indeed, often marvellous.
Usually this is the point at which you start talking about the musical direction of the band, but being Faith No More, that’s a bit flipping difficult! If you know them, you’ll know why, if you don’t, I realise that’s not helpful, but hopefully my little run down of the best of the Best Of should redress that…
In order to give you a balanced taster of the album, I’ve chosen seven out of the nineteen tracks, my...
