Advantages: Brilliant electronic music
Disadvantages: quite strange

Rephlexions (various artists) is the next installment of compilation albums on the Rephlex record label. It features another set of tracks by the key players on the label and is equally as good as the first compilation (Braindance (various artists)) The sounds are spaced out emotional and very original explorations of electronia. The CD kicks off with some mellow keys on which glitchy drum and bass future breaks are laid on top. The second tracks goes straight into a gentle industrial clanking atmosphere where a glimmering machine sits in a castle basement, blue light floods through the window in the middle of the night, the machine gets more energy as the track progresses.All the tracks seem to have concepts behind them waiting to be discovered. We Invented The Remix - Various Artists

Advantages: Some good remixes and the price
Disadvantages: Not many, some fillers but i suppose you get that with every album

A Girl Part 1 - Usher, Loon & P Diddy. Great chorus and catchy lyrics from usher, definately one for the ladies but a really popular tune. Unfoolish - Ashanti & Notorious BIG. Loads of radio play this one, mixing Biggies old tune, i think the video got more airplay than the original and another cult classic Dance With Me/Peaches And Cream - 112, Ludacris & Beanie Segal. Great mix with the two best tunes from the 112 album. Great r&b club tracks and more cult classics No More Drama - Mary J Blige. Compared to what has come before on this album, the Mary track falls just short. Its a mid tempo track which is just middle of the road So complete - Cherri Dennis. I can basically repeat the same as above, not really much going on Notorious - Lil Kim, Notorious BIG & P Diddy. Nowhere near the original in my opinion but my brother loves it ...

Harlem On The Rise

Advantages: A few big tunes
Disadvantages: Inconsistent

In 1997, months after the death of he Notorious B.I.G>, another name out of the Bd Boy camp chose to step things up, and so with ?Harlem World?, Mase was able to do this and show that despite the tragedy, the label wouldn?t go down. It has him on beats from the likes of Puffy, Jermaine Dupri and The Neptunes, and it features 112, DMX and Busta Rhymes amongst many others. 1. ?Puff?s Intro? 2. ?Do You Wanna Get $?? Here you have a fly cut form him to get into the swing of things for the album as you get a track which brings you right into his world where the only really focus for him is getting to money, and if this isn?t where people want to be taking their life, then he doesn?t have a clue why they would bother with whatever they are on.
