Review of CBeebies (27 Songs & Themes From BBCTV's Top Children's Characters + Limited Edition CD) [ECD] - Various Artists by belfin

Advantages: keeps your kids amused on long journeys
Disadvantages: lots of annoying tunes

...This cd is guaranteed to keep your little ones singing and dancing for hours and we've found it's great in the car for our 3 year old and even we can't help singing along to some of the catchy songs from the well known Cbeebies shows. This limited edition of this item comes with a 2nd disc for extra entertainment and the combined cds last 81 minutes so it's quite good value for money at around £7.50 from the likes of Tesco online. As well as the theme tunes to shows like Postman Pat and Balamory there is also the great No. 1 hit from Bob The Builder which in case you can't quite remember was Mambo No. 5. Of course there are also favourites from Tweenies and Bill and Ben to get you dancing around the room with your toddler. The full listing is below and yet again the BBC have managed to include just about everything on the brilliant... Read review

haha Emma my review is far superior!!
Review of Heartbreaker - Ryan Adams by heroinchica

Advantages: Fragile like you
Disadvantages: I'm on my 19th nervous breakdown listening to it.

...is like a cowboy booted kick in the guts, Bob Dylan style. "In my time of need" sings nostalgia for some lost era, it feels like a Steinbeck novel, Ryan's angelic vocals whispering soulful and blue over a tale of hardworking calloused hand love in a dreamy America long lost. But still "Sweet Little Gal (23rd/1st) is, for me, the most memorable. It's raw and powerful in it's honest simplicity, just piano and voice. It's bare bone beauty is stripped naked in the rain and crying, beaten and alone. I've never heard a voice more vulnerable, more poignant. Truly great music moves you- "Sweet Little Gal" simply destroys me with sadness and empathy. You don't need to be a dumpee to blub like a baby to Heartbreaker. But you'd have to be pretty cold and callous not to.... Read review

We Are Going Down the Pub
Review of That's Life - Sham 69 by Champ666

Advantages: Simple Raw Street Punk
Disadvantages: Nowt More Than a Nostalga Trip these Days

...highlights are "Hurry Up Harry" a classic punk rock anthem designed to get you down the pub and there is nowt wrong with that. The opening track of "leave Me Alone" which reflect the sentiment held by most young men on a Saturday morning when they are recovering from a hangover, and "Angels With Dirty Faces" is a statement of intent and a classic bit of great street punk. This album offers 12 (with 2 extras on the CD) cuts of classic raw and snotty street punk, and possibly is more successful than Blur's Parklife at telling the story of a day in the life of ordinary people. Unfortunately I don't see that many folk other than aging punks looking for a bit of nostalgia actually getting this, and I am more interested in what piece of music the Labour party will use for Tony's enterance for next years conference, I would suggest Public Image Limited...
