Advantages: Very emotional and truthful book - with accounts, extra context and pictures Disadvantages: Can get very emotipanl and rather painful to read at times - the truth can hurt
I am currently studying history at A level and am very interested in the two world wars and have bought so many different information and text books with information on these wars. These have all been useful to not only my studies, but also in my own personal research and interest in the subject, one that is very emotional and important to me and the history of not only this country, but the whole world. However this book is very different and recounts the war as it was - it is basically a collection of diary extracts from hundreds of different people who were alive and involved in the war - either fighting on the front line or helping on the home front. This book is therefore far more truthful and revealing about the truth and is extremely emotional and shocking.

Advantages: Very funny, excellent performances Disadvantages: Some won't like the swearing, drug taking and excess drinking
to have so many links to British culture; perhaps any non-Brits who have seen it can let me know.
The setting for the film is great. The Camden flat looks suitably grim, and the attention to detail, particularly in the filthy kitchen, is perfect. Uncle Monty's cottage is in Penrith, which allows for some magnificent scenery shots, albeit mainly in the rain. There are any number of famous tracks played during the course of the film, most notably ...
Advantages: Down to earth and you'll recognise the songs! Disadvantages: Perhaps a little too simple and a little contrived.
all, 10 well known songs, (a lot of them with a Geordie connection) and Jimmy's "OK" voice giving them some very different interpretations.
Certainly Jimmy makes a great effort to cover many and varied styles within the ten songs and in general manages a pretty good job. In fact this for me is the only real problem with the album as sometimes it has a slightly contrived feel, as if they all sat down around a table with a list of song styles and tried to cover as many as possible.
Highlights of the album include a lovely Country and Western version of "Overjoyed", the Lindisfarne classic "Clear White Light" (probably the song most like its original), the big band sound of "Walking on the Moon" and the upbeat rock of "Once in a Lifetime"
Songs that don't quite do it for me are the a cappella of "Love me like a Rock" and the almost ...
