Advantages: Led Zeppelin Music Disadvantages: When do you listen to other Zepp albums ?
...This debut album was recorded within their first weeks together after testing the songs while on tour to Scandinavian audiences under the name of the New Yardbirds. Rehearsed and arranged ahead of their arrival in the studio, the nine tracks took only 30 hours to record over nine days and for a reputed cost of £1,782.
The four members of the band were, Guitarist - Jimmy Page, Vocalist - Robert Plant, Bassist - John Paul Jones and Drummer - John Bonham.
Jimmy Page chose the black and white cover illustration of the Hindenburg airship going down, as The Who’s Keith Moon had put it, like a "Lead" Zeppelin.
Track 1 – Good Times, Bad Times – This the most commercial sounding cut of the album and was considered for a time as the bands debut single. Page played his telecaster through a Leslie revolving speaker, usually reserved...

Advantages: 17 really good songs, no fillers, Disadvantages: Some songs will take you a while to warm to
...The White Stripes first album, a self-titled debut, is greatly overlooked, although it may be one of their best album. It’s raw, bluesy and is really what The White Stripes were all about. And with 17 songs, all great, I defy anyone to say this isn't a super album.

1 - Jimmy The Exploder
Loud, in your face guitar opens up this brilliant album, with a song that is, well, about nothing really. A monkey who can explode things that aren’t red, like green apples. The lyrics won’t really do much for you but the music playing is great.
2 - Stop Breaking Down
This is an exceptional copy of a song by The Rolling Stones. Another song where Jack exceeds himself...

Advantages: key tracks from Led Zeppelin I & II Disadvantages: remastered many times since
...Taking tracks from Led Zeppelin I and II this album shows how timeless their music remains. The first album is in a way very different from what was to follow and stylistically owes a lot to Jimmy Page's previous band, The Yardbirds. Even Page's trademark guitar, the Les Paul, is missing from the first album which was recorded mainly with a psychedelicly painted Telecaster (which now resides on the wall of the Hard Rock Cafe, Whistler). From the start though, its clear to hear the tightness of the band. Every member, from John Paul Jones' locked in bass playing to Robert Plant's howling vocals fit together perfectly in this mix of blues and hard rock. Many of the acoustic to rock switches that Page incorporates into later classics like Stairway to Heaven can be first heard here too....
