...As a proud owner of this album myself I can tell you that by buying it you will not be dissapointed. As an avid fan of 60's music myself, yet not from that era myself, i was as eager as anyone to get my hands on this product regardless! Personally I enjoyed tracks 3,7, and 9 best. Some of the good old classics! Admittedly the other ones may have been slightly poorly chosen, but I assume it was some poor uneducated survey collector somewhere who was asked to choose them. Regardless of this I think it is an excellent album. When the album itself was delivered to me it arrived promptly and in good condition, I am just saying this because i had concerns it may have had been bodged, fortunately I was mistaken .... ...Technology in the music industry has come on in leaps and bounds since the days of vinyl records and cassettes. It doesn’t seem that long since I began purchasing CD s to replace my worn out records, now DVD’s are all the rage. I was teenager in the 60’s and many of those popular recordings are now in compilations, often missing out my own favourites. So back in 2001 I was pleased to find “The Greatest No1 singles” on a double CD. This album was produced as a result of a Channel 4 programme presented by Graham Norton in the year 2000. It set about choosing the 100 greatest singles of all time. Quite how I missed it remains a mystery, but the booklet that accompanies this album states that the programme was four hours long, which may explain a lot. Advantages: Varied popular songs plus some obscure ones
Disadvantages: The obscure songs are probably not to everyones taste

...This is the second CD I have brought from this series, I find these CD's a general overview of the years music relating to well known tracks to some that are unknown to me. This therefore make is a very good album to listen to as you know what you are getting from some of the songs. artists like Sterophonics, Muse, Athlete, The Libertines and so on are well known and will appeal to the majority. There are however some more obscure songs bands like Client, Bees, which although are not to bad for my taste they may not appeal to everyone. On the whole I have found this to be a good album in my collection and one that I will listen to if I can not make up my mind. If you like the main popular songs on this album then I would recommend to have this in your collection.... Read review
