I was born in 1979, so a lot of the 80's I can vaguely remember, most of it being the late 80's however if you asked me to name several bands from the 80's I don't think I would be able to come up with many. I remember the songs however detailing the artists would be difficult and I think I would come up with a handful, the likes of Wham, Culture Club, Spandau Ballet, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and of course Duran Duran.
I love everything about the 80's, the cheesy pop music that was fantastic, the dress sense and Duran Duran have got to be in my opinion one of my favourite bands from the 80's and they are still going strong to this day.
The Duran Duran Greatest Hits Album has got to be one of the best albums I have ever purchased and it only cost £5 aswell. With the main songs that they have released over two decades, its a really good feel good album, takes you back and in my opinion is an album that will never be forgotton. Duran Duran are a band that although you may not have grown up with, people know who they are and what they have contributed to the music industry and will continue to be popular in years to come and will still be heard too.
Although Duran Duran have that 80's feel about them within the tracks, the difference about them and todays music is that they are all themed different, and don't sound like the same track, they have plenty of variation and are not portraying a life story like everyone seems to be following these days which gets a little bit tiring, as even though some people may be famous, or in some cases may be not, we don't want to know there whole life story.

Having a song a the theme tune to a James Bond film and also a lot of the other songs are featured in 80's movies, including The Business starring Danny Dyer, Duran Duran have been one of the main success stories of the 80's that have continued to make great songs even to this day.
