I'm suprised that 2Pac who made a massive impact on not only the rap scene but the music industry has not been wrote about more often. Many people will know 2Pac as a poet, actor and rapper but some consider him to be a bad boy a thug whatever you define him as his music is a joy to listen to.
This album has all his graetest hits from his first album '2Pacalypse Now' to his last before the greatest hits album 'Don Killuminati - The 7 Day Theory'. His music speaks volumes one song could about his struggles in life and the next could be about how he enjoys life.
He also had a distinguised music career like many other rappers such as Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and others 2PAc has the first major rapper to act in a film. His film list includes 'Juice', 'Above The Rim', 'Menace To Society' and the last film he made before his death 'Gang Related'. Its quite amazing that in such a short music career he has released so many albums and even had time
to make 4 movies.
Of course many people will know that 2Pac was shot dead in las vegas in 1996. Its still unknown who the attacker was many suspected his friend and the notorious owner of death row records suge knight. The shooting was filled with controversy his friend Kadafi was set to give evidence but was shot dead just days before.
Here is the track listing for '2Pac - Greatest Hits'
Disk 1 ------ 1. Keep Ya Head Up 2. 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted 3. Temptations 4. God Bless The Dead 5. Hail Mary 6. Me Against The World 7. How Do U Want It? 8. So Many Tears 9. Uncondtional Love 10. Trapped 11. Life Goes On 12. Hit 'Em Up
Disk 2 ------ 1. Troublesome 96 2. Brenda's Got A Baby 3. I Ain't Mad At Cha 4. I Get Around 5. Changes 6. California Love 7. Picture Me Rollin' 8. How Long Will They Mourn Me 9. Toss It Up 10. Dear Mama 11. All About U 12. To Live & Die In L.A. 13. Heartz Of Men
So may classics on this album so I've decided to knock them down to my Top 5 on the album
Andy's Top 5 ------------
5. 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted ---------------------------- This song was from his album all eyez on me which most songs on the album are from. Snoop Dogg is in this song which makes it instantly better. having these 2 rappers who were the hottest talents out at the time makes it a class song. The mix of a catchy tune and great technique makes it a cut above the rest
4. Brendas Got A Baby --------------------- This song is from his first album and is different to most of his usual tunes. The songs charector brenda is a 12 year old girl that is having a baby. Its the fact that 2Pac is a poet that this song goes very well, he covers all the dangers of having a baby underage in 'The ghetto'.
3. Keep Ya Head Up ------------------ This is one of the classics the song was released just before he went to jail and he gets his point across. The song is very deep its mainly about women and how he thinks they should be treated with more respect. The song is excellently constructed which made him one of the best rappers ever.
2. Me Against The World ----------------------- This song was released after the first time Tupac was shot. Amazingly he was shot 5 times and didn't die. This song is about the struggles in life. He was shot 5 times for being in the wrong place he was killed for being famous which is a common thing in modern day society
1. California Love ------------------ This is without a doubt his most famous song. The song features Dr. Dre a man he later accused of being lazy and also made accusations that he was gay. That aside this really is a quality song. Everybody knows it for the electro kind of beats used in the song. 2Pac did this song for his love of california as thats where he spent most of his time.
Many people still believe that 2Pac is still alive due to the many facts. Things like he had no funeral and the whole 7 day theory which is to much to go into. The strange thing is half of his songs referred to death in some way. 'How long will they mourn me?', 'Hail Mary', 'To Live And Die In L.A.' are all classic examples that he himself was obsessed with death.
Many people in the rap industry end up being shot from so called 'Playa Haters' who don't like people from the ghetto becoming something big. Well whatever 2Pac is dead or alive it doesn't stop him being the greatest rapper that ever lived.
This album can be purchased from any music store and also online at many music sites. Thank You for rading my op, hope it was an interesting read

An excellent op on one of the greats of all time who will never be forgotten. I thought Hail Mary would have been in your top 5 though. Never mind. Darren.

I love Tupac, he's the king - his poems are great too, not as good as his songs though! I like Unconditional Love out of the ones on his album though it is hard to choose, great op xx
