Greatest Hits (Chapter 1) - Backstreet Boys

Advantages: Pop, catchy music, five nice guys
Disadvantages: not for you if you hate pop music

Everyone has heard of the backstreet boys haven't they? Okay so alot of you have probably just looked at this and thought 'no way a op on the backstreet boys' but they are a group I have to say I am quite fond of (aswell as rock music, nu metal etc etc.... ...say much to that, when they started out they were a typical boy band, dressing in the same clothes etc etc etc but as I have been a fan from day one I have to admit that I have see them grow not just grow up in themselfs but musically too and they now also write a lot more of their music. The Backstreet boys have been on the scene since 1995 and in case you haven't heard of them (which is very doubtful) there are five of them : AJ, Nick, Kevin, Howie and Brian. I feel since the boys first started out we have watched them grow up and this is reflected in their music. Its a shame really that its the only new track but its a good one. The opening of this song reminds me of an O-Town song which was released at a similar time. ...3 times. Greatest Hits - Chapter One was released in 2001 and I bought this from CD Wow for £8.50. This hits collection didn't disappoint me. The themes on the album are mainly love and partying! I think the tracks should have been in chronological order but obviously, someone else thought differently. The first track is "I Want It That Way" which was their only UK number one in 1999. The next track is the anthem "Everybody (Backstreet's Back) from ...
...Long As You Love Me". Things take a sombre turn on the altogether more serious ballad "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely". The video featured tributes to missed friends and relatives and the worries the band had about their own health. Not a barrel of laughs but then, it wasn't supposed to be. From We've Got It Goin' On to the latest offering, Drowning - all the hits are on this album. This latest offering from the world's biggest boyband is a winner for any pop fan this Christmas.
