Greatest Hits (+DVD) - Creed

Advantages: Tremonti, 2 or 3 individual songs
Disadvantages: Stapp, generic, repetitive, stale, uninventive

...Wind-Up decided upon releasing a Greatest Hits package, one which would supposedly showcase exactly why Creed shifted 20 million units, spanning just 3 albums. That said, Tremonti himself was said to be disgusted over the idea of said package, and thusly refused to have anything to do with it. After all the who-ha between the label and the band members themselves, 'Creed - Greatest Hits' hit stores around Christmas time last year; a move which obviously ...
...was. Whilst 'Creed - Greatest Hits' delivers some truly brilliant songs (With Arms Wide Open, Torn), there's just something not right. As before, the track list is dreadfully constructed, the accompanying DVD will be best used as a frisbee in my house, and a couple of the songs, to be blunt, stink. As a huge fan of Tremonti's new outfit Alter Bridge, I can only recommend anyone with an ear for half decent rock music gives them a look. Creed R.I.P. ... Read review

Advantages: All their greatest hits with very little filler, and a free DVD is a nice bonus as well!
Disadvantages: They haven't really had enough songs to warrant a "greatest hits" album, although after splitting up they didn't really have an option

...Bridge's work should go out and buy this greatest hits album, as it has some great lyrics and some good relaxation tunes on it. It's just a shame that they no are longer in existence to make one last album. Is this album good, or great? I'm "Torn". ... Read review

...as it is the same price! For those listening to Creed for the first time, you might want to spend your money more wisely on the silver covered greatest hits album. Not for the songs, but there is a free bonus DVD with the videos to every song Creed have ever released as a single. For only £2 more, you will appreciate this far more in your collection and most of these songs are on it anyway. THE SUMMARY: This album is worth purchasing if you like softer rock - like Aerosmith and such. Its a happy difference to the standard bands we have all heard in the genre, and they do it without swearing, being abusive or shouting racist slurs. You won't be headbanging to it, but it is a good background music album to play.
