I'm relieved that this is Volume 1 of their greatest hits, as there's a number of missing tracks I would have liked included here. There's an over-representation of ballads rather than the rock tracks they started out with (while this is ok with me, it may not appeal to hard-core fans).

...is Volume 1 of their greatest hits, as there's a number of missing tracks I would have liked included here. There's an over-representation of ballads rather than the rock tracks they started out with (while this is ok with me, it may not appeal to hard-core fans).
The Goo Goo Dolls aren't as well known as they should be in the UK, despite being around for nearly 20 years now, and I'd never heard them until they released "Let Love In" a couple of ... ...is an inventive, faced-paced song. Better Days, another track from that album, is a slow, introspective piece, which has grown on me over time. Also included (inevitably) is Iris, their most famous track and still one of my favourite love songs of all time.
This a varied album, with several changes of tempo, and a good selection of some of thier more recent hits. But at the same time I'd like to have seen some of their earlier songs, as well as ...
