Mixed bunch, but mostly pretty darn good!
Review of Greatest Hits [DualDisc] - Lee Ann Womack by  tekaybe

Advantages: A mix of music across her career
Disadvantages: sometimes a little monotonus!

...Lee Ann Womack is a relative newcomer to the scene, but she certainly made herself known! This greatest hist CD does, to quote the Ronseal advert, "exactly what it says on the tin"! The 10 tracks featured on the CD are certainly some of her best work. Track listing is: 1. Never Again, Again - "proper" country - with steel guitars ago-go! 2. You've Got to Talk to Me - one of those tunes you're just not going to be able to get out of your head! 3. Fool - heart-wrenching country at it's best, although not one of my favourite tracks of hers. 4. Little Past Little Rock - a good tune, but not really inspirational lyrics, frankly. 5. (Now You See Me) Now You Don't 6. I'll Think of a Reason Later - great "comedy" track - there's one on every album, and this is a great example! Just listen to the words 7. I Hope You Dance... Greatest Hits from the Greatest Rapper
Review of Greatest Hits (Edited) [PA] - 2Pac by  dblock

Advantages: Classic album shocasing the best of 2pac
Disadvantages: A few weak tracks, which should not have been included

...Greatest hits albums are usually not considered as classics nor generally do they define the pinnacle of an artist's career. However when it comes to 2pac's greatest hits there is an exception. Why is there an exception, well it can be put down to 2 major reasons. Firstly he was in the mid 90's the most famous rapper. Although his fame did not reach the heights as the likes of Eminem or Jay-Z today, he was still nevertheless reasonably famous and an exceptionally talented rapper. Secondly and perhaps most importantly though was the tragic fact that he had died just shortly before the release of this album. 2pac had been shot dead in a murder case that is still unresolved till this day and has been the subject of many conspiracy theories. However sad this event was it can not hide the fact that it catapulted 2pac into a famous... Read review

Greatest Hits? Or Greatest Covers?
Review of Greatest Hits [Digipak] [PA] - Guns N' Roses by  Adam87

Advantages: It has some of their best songs
Disadvantages: It's not a fair reflection of the band

...The tracks on this album: 1. Welcome To The Jungle 2. Sweet Child O' Mine 3. Patience 4. Paradise City 5. Knockin' On Heaven's Door 6. Civil War 7. You Could Be Mine 8. Don't Cry (Original) 9. November Rain 10. Live And Let Die 11. Yesterdays 12. Ain't It Fun 13. Since I Don't Have You 14. Sympathy For The Devil What's wrong with this album? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WAY too many covers for my liking. Sure, Knockin' On Heaven's Door was good, Live And Let Die was pretty damn good too, but on a Greatest Hits, covers should be more scarce (especially when they are Since I Don't Have You and Sympathy For The Devil - Tolerable, yes, greatest hits? No! Furthermore, tell me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Civil War was even released, I'm not certain but, that's what I... Read review
