Blink 182, possibly one of the best trio acts? Well I think so. They are a very mixed genre band. Some say they are pop, some say rock, some even say punk and I would agree with all 3. Blink 182 split up due to "personal problems" but after listening to this album I always wish they would re-join and do a tour! Travis Barker, the drummer of Blink joined with a band called (+44) and the other 2 members of Blink joined a band called Angels and Airwaves. To be honest, both bands are awful and I sometimes say to myself, "How were they once part of an amazing band?" If we put aside their present and future, you will see with this album how well they did in the past. This album really shows me and others what Blink 182 are like and shows their true potential. I have never purchased any of the other albums but I decided to buy the greatest hits just to see what it was like and it definatly has their greatest hits. This album has exactly what it says on the cover, their GREATEST hits! Some of the tracks were even in the charts so the album really does include many of their finest songs. 1. Carousel 3:13 Buddha - released 1998 A very catchy song. Good to listen to and great to sing to. I had this song in my head for over a week once it was so catchy.
2. M+M's 2:36 Cheshire cat - released 1998 This song doesn't really have much meaning. I think he tries to say about M+M's being like women. Quite random but it was a very early song of theirs.
3. Dammit 2:46 The Mark Tom and Travis show - released 2000 This song makes me think about how people change when falling in love. Also, I think the line "I guess this is growing up" is genius and reminds me of myself as i'm so called becoming an adult.
4. Josie 3:05 Dude ranch - released 1997 This song reminds me of the feminists view of women's emotion work. This song is about how his girlfriend looks after him and how she makes him feel good at times when he is down.
5. What's My Age Again? 2:30 The Mark Tom and Travis show - released 2000 Great song, hilarious, relates to First date though. Shows how picky and stuck up girls can be to immature guys. Why grow up?
6. All The Small Things 2:52 Enema of the state - released 1999 This isn't the best song but it is very catchy and very pop like. I think it may be a parody of a boy band song. Also, in the video one of them does look a lot like Donny Osmond on the beach scene, quite worrying. (I do like Donny Osmond though)
7. Adam's Song 4:09 Enema of the state - released 1999 The vocals are quite slow and nice yet the drumming can be fast and heavy at some parts. A typical punk song I think. Very good to listen to and sing to.
8. Man Overboard 2:47 The Mark Tom and Travis show - released 2000 (This also doesn't seem to be on the greatest hits version I have so I don't know what this song is like, probably good though!)
9. The Rock Show 2:49 Take off your pants and jacket - released 2001 Very catchy guitar riff at the beginning. I think this song is about a girl being very laid back in life, and Blink 182 love her. Quite a punk rock song.
10. First Date 2:49 Take off your pants and jacket - released 2001 When I first heard this song I was amazed by the intro drumming. I think Travis Barker is possibly one of the best drummer (apart from Joey Jordison - Slipknot) The intro to the song just proved that the song will be good. It represents a very unexpirienced person in a relationship. Gives a very childish view of relationships.
11. Stay Together For The Kids 3:59 Take off your pants and jacket - released 2001 This is my personal favourite song as my band covered it. It was good as we recorded it in 2 different styles. It is one of those songs that makes you think of typical child - adult relationships. I'm not sure if that is the meaning but I get the image of them getting fed up of parents. It reminds me of Sliver - Nirvana if you like Nirvana.
12. Feeling This 2:53 Blink 182 (self titled album) - released 2003 A very confused song. A very relationship based song, again. I do like the song though. Good to sing to and the video is quite cool.
13. I Miss You 3:47 Blink 182 (self titled album) - released 2003 A really sweet song. If you are into the pop side of music, you will love this song. It's not so much romantic but the thought of someone missing someone is quite sweet. A relaxing song too.
14. Down 3:14 Blink 182 (self titled album) - released 2003 I love this song. I love the video as well. I'm not sure what the song is about but it is amazing to listen to. It's the first song I put on by them everytime I want to listen to Blink 182.
15. Always 4:12 Blink 182 - released 2003 I'm not to keen on this song as the intro drumming is really weird and I don't really like the singing but a lot of people do like this song and it is played a lot on Kerrang. I tend to skip this song, it's not on my MP3 either.
16. Not Now 4:25 I miss you part 2 single - released 2004 An alienated intro, very strange but when the song gets going it is a fantastic song. Good guitar riffs as well.
17. Another Girl Another Planet 2:41 This is a cover song originally sung by a group called "The only ones" released in 1978 on their debut album. A very nice track.
18. Go [BBC radio 1 live] This Bonus track was written and performed on BBC radio 1 station in England. Originally on the Blink 182 self-titled album (bonus track album). Has a repetitive chorus but very catchy and good to listen to.
Even if you are not a Blink 182 fan, buy this album because it is amazing and if you are a Blink 182 fan, you should already have this album!
