Imagine if the Dirty Sanchez boys were funny, talented and original...
When I picked up this CD I could not wait to get it home and give it a coat or two of listening to. I was not disappointed.
I skipped to the three singles that I knew ('Guns Don't Kill People..', 'Your Mother's Got...' and 'You Knows I Loves You' ) The pleasure derived from these three tracks is more than most albums can muster, but they aren't the best of this album.
I then skipped around the album impatiently in a fit of excitement. After I had calmed down a little, I could enjoy the rest of the tracks. I enjoyed them all - 'Half Man Half Machine' had me rolling around in fits of laughter, as did moments in other songs.
After listening to the album properly a few times, it still makes me laugh out loud in parts, as I notice things I haven't heard before.
If you have heard one of this band's songs and liked it, you will love the rest of this album. It is full of the same (or worse) type of humour.
One criticism is that there are too many drug references, but the drug users mentioned are portrayed as idiots, so, positively, the album does not really provide a good advert for drug abuse. If you have a sense of humour then you won't mind the references.
Another criticism is that the band relies mainly upon humour - although the music is very good - so the group's career probably won't last that long. You might not play it as much as one of your favourite musical acts - you'll have to keep reminding yourself to listen to it regularly.
The band strike me as a Welsh version of the Bloodhound Gang - just as crude, maybe not as musically adept - the songs are sampled rather than played on instruments - but maybe a bit more funny - you'll most likely understand more of the references.
This album, like the group's dress sense, refers heavily to the mid/early 1980's and is full of nostalgic references, such as roller discos, Dallas and the A-Team. If you're around 25-35, you'll be the age group to get the most out of it. If you're younger, or a bit older, there will still be plenty that you'll enjoy.
This album is hilarious. If you're thinking about buying it, then you'll of course be the sort of person that will enjoy it...and you can find out what the one off Dad's Army who didn't die is doing now...
Oh yeah, Greatest Hits... that's a complete misnomer.

Review of Greatest Hits (Parental Advisory) [PA] - Goldie Lookin' Chain
Advantages: utterly hilarious Disadvantages: see review
The GLC ( Eggsie (Mr Love Eggs), Xain (Dwayne Xain Zedong), Adam Hussain, Two-Hats, Mike Balls (Hardest Man In Soccer Violence), Billy Webb, Mystikal and the Maggot) have done miricales with this album its utterly hilarious. This album i think is proberly the most origional album i have heard in a long time the welsh accents will have you on the floor laufin. The one thing i like about the lyrics in this album is you can really relate to them as ... ...tend to get more what they are on about but again there is alot of bad language so i advice not to give this to young children. The quality of the tracks is amazing there is constent good song after good song. The glc have just released there new album which i think is equally as good as this one they are both amazing. I dont really see much compitition for welsh rapping so they would win hands down however i do think that if you were a true lover ...

Advantages: amusing, uplifting, entising, good tunes, good vocals, clever lyrics Disadvantages: none
...so it was infact their greatest hits. From the very start on the cd i was laughing uncontolably, numerous welsh rappers rapping about mothers with peni' and wanting to be a robot. If you are a person who can enjoy all types of music with a good tune and witty lyrics then this is surley one for you. ...

Album Notes
Debut album from the eighteen piece Cardiff rap troupe. The GLC claim influences through their modifications of songs from artists such as So Solid Crew, The Streets and...Paul Gascoigne. Tracks tackle topics such as their Welsh Heritage, irrelevence of American Rappers, gun control and the allure of drugs (the last of which is a recurring theme throughout). Technically proficient but with a definite tongue in cheek.
