Most people tend to think of "If You Let Me Stay" when they think of Terence Trent D'arby (or whatever his new name is, I'm ashamed to say I'm too lazy to learn how to spell it).

He lives in Italy now and has huge hits in Europe but hasn't been in the UK for some time; in between work he's also even fronted INXS after the sad death of Michael Hutchence.

This collection was released in 2003 and was the first ever proper collection of hits and rarest recordings.

Some of the most more odd tracks on here come from "Neither Fish Nor Flesh" but there will be some you do know.

"If You Let Me Stay" is a great pop track. I can remember TTD performing that on The Roxy on ITV and thinking it was one of the most amazing things I'd ever seen.

The tone poem "Wishing Well" was another big hit with a great riff. "Dance Little Sister" is a rock track. I love the inspiring lyrics and the saxophone.

"Do You Love Me LIke You Say You Do?" was hit in 1993 and while it didn't set the charts alight exactly, it saw a return to form after the failure of the second album.

"Delicate" was a fantastic top 10 hit in 1993. Terence's voice matches perfectly with Desree's rich voice. I really have no idea what the song is about, but that's nothing unusual with TTD!

"She Kissed Me" was another rock track which sounded rather like something Lenny Kravitz would sing. It was rather dark too. "She's disturbed, emotionally".

"Let Her Down Easy" was a song about Terence and a woman he knew. She worked with him in a studio and she wanted to take the relationship further. Terence is saying that someone who is about to get hurt by another person deserves some dignity. "Let her down easy, her heart is on the line". I bought this single on limited edition white vinyl.

Other standout tracks are "Holding On To You" and "Vibrator".

Original most of this album may be, but accessible it's not. You may use the "skip" function rather a lot unless the rather obscure tracks grow on you.

The album is £10.99 in HMV but Amazon and the usual places should have it cheaper.
