Advantages: All the best songs in one place Disadvantages: Not worthwhile for the aged-old fan
channels and maybe it does get the odd bit of 'extra' airtime. (E.g. "Close To Me" being on a BBC Three programme...it's name escapes me, but it may have been the 'Smoking Room'? Answers on a postcard...)
Their 'greatesthits' album, released in 2001 through Fiction Records and only done so on the basis that Smith could choose the tracks himself is 19 tracks that show a chronological tale of the band and their music through the years. (Although two of the tracks are brand new!)
Opening track "Boys Don't Cry" was released in June 1979, eight years before I was born. Yet with it's instantly recognisable guitar riff it's something that the countless bands since then that have idolised and 'taken influence' from the Cure could take the rest of time to improve on. I believe the saying is along the lines of put some monkeys in a room ...
Advantages: first 9 tracks are everything that can be hoped for (barring Patience) Disadvantages: no band input, mixed playlist, poor packaging
Axl ?shoot myself in the foot? Rose and his band of merry men return from a lengthy hiatus with the release of their official greatesthits package. Although I say official, in truth had Axl had his way then this release would never have seen the light of day. As hard as he and Slash tried, even efforts in court failed, they couldn?t stop Geffen Records releasing what they saw as an acceptable package. Geffen it seemed, having been taken to the limit with constant promises of Chinese Democracy, took it into their own hands to place together a collection of songs and rush release it. If I were to be honest, this is one of the worst ?hits? packages that you will find, not because of the music, rather due to the circumstances. Firstly, for a greatesthits package there is very little here that can?t be purchased on a market stall for £3 ...

The tracks range from 1994 - 2003 playing some (if not all) of Korns greatest ever songs.
The CD was released in October 2004
The album works backwards, from their most current work ("y'all want a single") to their very first single ("blind"). The album contains 19 tracks, and three of those are extra songs, including a remix of "freak on a leash." At first, I thought it'd be better for them to start with their earliest work and then go from there, as you'd be able to see how much their music has evolved, but when I listened to the album in whole, I really liked how it was constructed. The album contains all of the popular hits that we've heard many times on the radio or have seen music videos for
Korn ...
