Remarkably, this is the third studio album Creedence Clearwater Revival released in 1969! ... more
During that stunning burst, John Fogerty could do no wrong.Green Riverisn't as chock-full of CCR standards as the record that followed it in 1970 (Cosmo's Factory), and at 30 minutes it's briefer than its rather brief predecessor (Willy&the Poor Boys). Still, this is economy at its best. The title track, "Lodi", and "Bad Moon Rising" are all indelibly etched into the memory banks of classic-rock fans, while "Commotion" and "Cross-Tie Walker" are perfect swamp-rock complements. "The Night Time Is the Right Time" is one more in a series of spot-on Fogerty covers. And "Wrote a Song for Everyone" manages to be both rarefied and down to earth in the same breath--which is really CCR in a nutshell. --Steven Stolder

Advantages: Classic Bond moments in first half of the film. Disadvantages: Gadgets ruin the film, as does John Cleese as Q.
Madonna who sang the title song of the film has been given a cameo part. Her scene is completely under lit and leaves her looking rather butch. By the way the title song is not one of the memorable ones in the series and can be quite annoying after hearing it a few times.
Released in 2002, the film marked the 40thAnniversary of the franchise. The Gun Barrel sequence was adjusted slightly, a number of reference to all previous films were made throughout the film itself, the most obvious one being in the scene with the new Q where a whole scope of gadgets from previous adventures are seen. , and the use of the Aston Martin made a welcome and long overdue return to the screen as Bond's car of choice as the BMW's were not used in the film at all. The Aston Martin is put to much more use than previous film as Bond uses the car throughout ...
that is mentioned more than any other film. This is, Walt Disney's - Mary Poppins.
Imagine my surprise when having not seen this classic creation for about 10 years when my boyfriend gave me a little surprise? the DVD - 2 Disc, 40thAnniversaryEdition. So I spent my Friday night snug in bed singing and reciting every word to the lovely and comforting lyrics of this magnificent movie. I felt like I was 5 years old again?.
**The History Behind Mary Poppins**
This movie is based upon the original book by P.L. Travers and was published in 1934. Travers originally wrote this title, amongst 3 others as a 4-part series of books based upon her own imagination, experiences and feelings as a child. It is believed that Pamela Travers, originally penned this book at the age of 10, to try and help her sisters through the anxiety of their ...

Album Notes
Creedence Clearwater Revival: John Fogerty (vocals, guitar); Tom Fogerty (guitar); Stu Cook (bass); Doug Clifford (drums). Creedence Clearwater Revival were part of a second wave of San Francisco groups, but unlike their geographical contemporaries, the quartet offered a disciplined music, indebted to '50s rock & roll and southern "swamp" styles. Leader, singer and songwriter John Fogerty possesses one of rock's most distinctive voices, his hoarse, urgent intonation matched by his group's mathematically precise drive. GREEN RIVER, their third album, includes two million-selling singles, the bluesy title track and "Bad Moon Rising," both of which encapsulate the Creedence metier. Remaining selections exhibit a similar economy, crammed with punchy hooklines, tight playing, and incisive lyrics, which take inspiration from traditional styles but in the process create something unique.
Album Reviews
Rolling Stone (12/11/03, p.118) - Ranked #95 in Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time" - "...A tightly wrapped package of blistering guitar, road-house-rhythm snap and John Fogerty's backwoods howl..." Rolling Stone (10/18/69, p.38) - "...[CCR] is one of the most exciting and satisfying bands around....their distinctive driving sound, when fused with Fogerty's vocals, results in something so fine....[GREEN RIVER] is a great album..."
