...American Idiot is Green Day's return to the music world after their last release of International Superhits back in 2001. I liked many of the songs on their last album, although would not have really considered myself as a big fan of Green Day. On the other hand, I totally love this album, although when I first heard it was not entirely a "huge" fan of Green Day although I did like most of their stuff. This album has developed my interest in Green Day and as a result, I'm soooo jealous I've missed out on tickets for the bands gig at Glasgow's SECC next year! :( Anyway, on to the album ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TRACK LISTING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. ...Thousand. Here, Days Like These creates an atmosphere of suspense, that builds each time it enters during the track. The slowly-paced In Time works beautifully in contrast with this, due to its emotionally charged and melodic nature. Santiago's voice comes across beautifully, driven by a passion that never gets carried away and aggressive but knows how to assert itself through character. There are some pleasant, relaxing starts to songs on this album, the lead vocals falling into this category also. Sequentially, where there is radiance, there is an attached gloominess, presented on Charity Burns Green in the lyrics and, further, in the music. Therefore the eleven songs on Charity Burns Green all have their own musical as well as lyrical story to tell. Advantages: Modern folk with profound lyrics and beautiful melodies.
Disadvantages: Not widely available

...and the passionate celebration of life and nature becomes apparent and the joyfulness is contagious. "What's the rush? / Dip your brush into the twilight / There are leaves upon the skylight; / trace your hand, trace your hand." More than any of her previous works, "The Green World" has an autobiographical element. Within the track, "What Do You Love More Than Love" Dar looks back on her past romances and her methods of escaping them including a visit to the Buddhist country of Bhutan that she cites as the inspiration for this song. "I held my breath and packed my bags / I went to the land of the monastery, the sunshine children and the prayer flags".
