This is absolute brililance! Forget listening to Breakthrough or the 411 this is shows the true artist and superstar that Mary J Blige is and with a track like 'Just Fine' Nothing can go wrong. 'Growing Pains' is Mary J. Blige's eighth studio album and is an album of the queen of RnBs ups and downs throughout her career and really gives us an insight to the truly remarkable diva that she is. Track by Track Guide
Work That- this shows the hip-hop side to Mary J Blige and is a brililant opening to what is an outstanding album. this gives you a true feeling from the very beginning of this album that you have something very special on your hands.
Grown Woman - another hip-hop record which does not disappoint and features the rap god that is Ludacris. MJB rocks this track as she raps and sings her way through what is a true
hip hop track
Just Fine - one of the finest songs created by MJB. this has got to be one of the best anthems ever and no matter where and when you are listening to this you want to dance and yes 'this joint right here makes us wanna let it go'
Feel Like A Woman - Beautiful. you really get to feel an inside on this track and see the slow jams that Mary has always been brilliant. the lyrics are brilliant and allow us to see the journey Mary has been through
Stay Down - 'did you know, did you know, did you know, that i love you'. i have to say i am actually in love with this track. a slow jam that makes me wanna dance!!
Hurt Again - MJB at her Best. the opening to this track is stunning. we are glad that she is speaking her mind because if this is what we get its mazing.
Shake Down - What do you get when you mix Usher and Mary J Blige. well you get an absolutely brilliant RnB track!!!. this is my favourite on the album by a mile and allows you to get in the mood with your head boppin and fingers clickin. you can' get better than this
Till the Morning - upbeat track that reminds me of track by Earth Wind and Fire. this is a true 80's style record updated to make the beat and music so contempory. the singing and lyrics are not brilliant but the music definately compensates this
Roses - opening is brilliant. Its Mary's Way Today and look what she pulls out of the hat. a track that has an Amy Winehouse vibe to it but better! with her little commentry in between really understands where shes coming from - life ain't all roses
Fade Away - 'it's startin to rain again' and this album is pouring out the hits for us!. slow rnb track with Mary definately at her best the vocals and lyrics are faultless and this is another song worth releasing.
What Love is - This is probably the one song that never hooked me as much as the others did but this still does not show how good the song is. the piano intro is brilliant and the music is good within it but there was just the killer line or hook that i felt just wasn't there
Work in Progress - this song has the vibe to that of TLC and is got sound effects of water that didn't really need to be there. its lyrics are straight to the point and would inspire any woman.
Talk to Me - one of the most soulful beats on this album with backing vocals that are brilliant and sound as if Mary was having a conversation with herself. Its really inviting. Mesmerising!
If you Love Me - one of the best music productions on this album. its really soulful and shows the true slow jam queen that Mary is. the beginning of this is brilliant and everything belnds together with lyrics, backing vocals and music stunningly.
Smoke - Final track on album and this is probably not the best tracks on the album. although by saying this just proves how good the album. the channging in style is quite confusing and this maybe what ruins the song
finally, if you havent bought this album i suggest you do it. this is one of the best RnB albums i have heard in ages.Mary sings more about her personal life which is great especially for woman whom are going through some hard times. you will get hooked on it and will be one that can be put on for every ocassion Mary J Blige is Back!!!
