Album Reviews: Living Blues (1-2/00, pp.95-6) - "...some of the finest performances in a blues tradition that goes back to the earliest days of recorded blues....providing a valuable snapshot of a pivotal time in the history of Chicago blues"
Advantages: Interesting, eclectic list of guests and collaborators Disadvantages: A few so-so tracks
...for Mick Hucknall’s ‘T-Bone Shuffle’, when ol’ carrot top ditches those cringing blue-eyed soul affectations of the Simply Red repertoire and gets his lungs into a decent slice of boogie-woogie. Likewise, it’s good to hear Steve Winwood, whose recent solo work has verged on blandness, going back to his R’n’B and soul roots on ‘I’m Ready’.
Elsewhere Jools duets with Dr John on ‘The Hand’, both sharing lead vocals as well as giving their keyboards a pounding for good measure. And when you see the name Mark Knopfler, don’t expect another lengthy laid-back guitar-driven epic, for Mark’s ‘Mademoiselle Will Decide’ is a rock’n’rollin’ blast in direct line of descent from ‘Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On’ –...

Advantages: Experimental album, lyrics, 3 classic-tracks, 2 hits, the booklet is much better. Disadvantages: The presentation of "40", sound, the booklet is still not good enough yet, lyrics with mistakes.
....
Bono Vox: Vocals, (Guitar)
The Edge: Guitar, (Piano, Keyboards, Vocals)
Adam Clayton: Bass
Larry Mullen Jr.: Drums
These 4, still exist with this line-up until now, were formed by manager Paul McGuinness, to be what they are today, millionaires and superstars. Bono is very active to help the Third World with their problems in Africa, Asia or Latin and South America. He twice was nominated for the Nobelprice, but never got it. Live U2 are like good sex, they are great showmen and a great live-band, what we hopefully can see once again very soon while waiting with desire to find an new album and a tour between 2004 and 2005.
The detailed list of their work:
Boy
October
War
Under A Blood Red Sky [Live-Album]
The Unforgettable Fire
Wide Awake In America
The Joshua Tree
Rattle & Hum
Achtung Baby
Zooropa
Passengers: Original...

Advantages: Pretty far out stuff, I ain't never heard anything like it before Disadvantages: Hard to get into, will need to see live to get full experience
..., “Superhero Music” came out some time later. They’re with the Manchester-based Grand Central record label and they’re a two-man band consisting of DJ Peter Parker (who some of you may know if you’re Mancunian and keep your ear to the Manchester music circuit) and Sneaky who is known by a more sensible and real name but for the life of me I can’t quite remember. Anyway, they debuted their latest album “Fingathing and the BigRed Nebula Band” halfway through the Mr. Scruff gig, as well as playing some of their older stuff for two hours. And what a stonking two hours it was.
In hindsight its probably easier to appreciate Fingathing if you’ve seen them live like I have. Its not just the music, but in a similar manner to bands like Bjork or Goldfrapp, but they put on a great visual show as well. Peter Parker has under his control a scratching deck...
