Wow!
What a way to start. "Now I'm here" really rocks you into what could be your most riffing couple of hours ever. Then again, it could simply be a few bars short of your perfect solo where this compilation does seem to miss out on a few key factors that would make up its point.

Nevertheless, Queen are probably just about the best band Capital Gold could have used to blast this album into full swing. It sets you up a real treat, as at least six of the next seven songs of the first CD are essential to the make up of any attempted guitaring compilation. "Layla", "Walk this Way", "Since You've Been Gone", "Smoke on the Water", and "Ace of Spades" are included in this guantlet. I can assure you that no expense was spared ont his introduction to such a task .

However, after track eight, the consistency of the superly - known, legendary performers of such classics begins to deteriorate, and although there are still many songs well deservedly on the CD, others you may not hear of in an opinion poll of 'what are your 41 favourite guitar anthems?'
"Born to be Wild", "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and "Sweet Home Alabama" do keep up the tempo, and the first CD does end on a high note with Peter Frampton's "Show Me the Way".

The second CD consists of a fair number of Legends too, of course, as expected. But, although they do incorporate the guitarists bible favourites of "Whisky in the Jar", "More than a Feeling" and "Black Magic Woman", the songs on this CD do seem to be compiled to provide a more chilled feeling to the listener. In general, I would say that the songs on this CD are not as heavy rock.

Considering the fact that I am only 16 years old and despite my appreciation for many of the artists involved on this CD, being a guitar player myselft I feel that they have indeed (probably depiberately so you must purchase other compilations) overlooked some of the fundemental musicians that I aspire to. Where is Mark Knopfler and his Sultans, or Slash's Jungle (or his dear Sweet Child!), or even the ranked number one at almost every poll asking the public "Who is the greatest Guitarist of all time?", JIMI HENDRIX!!!!!

Understandably, the sound of Guns and Roses may not be the tune to everyones ear however a compilation is supposed to show a broad range of its object (in this case the guitar) and so having missed out the founding bricks of many artists, I did feel slightly disappointed when I purchased this Compilation myselft. Nonetheless, it is still a great album to appreciate and I will be airing to it for many years to come, still a must for all guitarists out there!
