became the neo-traditional movement, Dwight Yoakam's debut, Guitars Cadillacs Etc. Etc, was a near-perfect recreation of Buck Owens's Bakersfield sound. "Bury Me" and "Miner's Prayer" are heartfelt homages to Yoakam's real Kentucky roots, while honky-tonks like "South of Cincinnati" remind how many Kentuckians headed to Ohio for good jobs. Most immediately striking, though, are Yoakam's covers--particularly versions of Johnny Horton's "Honky Tonk Man" and Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire"--which subtly tune up the Bakersfield sound with a rock & roll super-charge. --David Cantwell

Advantages: Another version of an old favorite Disadvantages: The questions seem to come around quickly
**Introduction**
The original Trivial Pursuit was created by two friends in Montreal in 1979. They were arguing over who was the best board game player and to try and settle this they devised there own. They hooked up with two others and almost sold there underwear to get the money to finance it. They even sold shares to friends and family. They sold 1100 in Canada before taking it to america were they did even worse. Eventually in 1982 it was an overnight success! In 1984 alone it sold over 20 million games. It is now available in 28 countries in 18 different languages.
Throughout the history of the game they have tried various different variations. There is the original Genus edition, Kids editions, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, 80's, 90's and even a Post War Baby Boom edition. I think they are on the 6th Genus now ...
Advantages: Nice easy read for my holiday Disadvantages: Writing style took a while to get used to.
?t a shallow read, either, as such, and does induce a bit of thought provocation.

Mine cost a mere 50p from the library and to be honest, with an older book such as this, unless you are a serious book collector rather than someone who passes books on once read, you would probably be able to find this in one of the many second hand shops in your local town.
Nevertheless, it was a worthy read and one I recommend. ...
Advantages: Good selection for a fairly small shop Disadvantages: not many of these bookshops around (only 36) -and 22 are in London!Nowhere to sit down.
THINGS
You can get signed first editions at branches of Books etc..so if you want to buy something that will probably be worth more in a few years, invest in one. The site lists the ones that you can get, and I'm a bit cross becasue I've just bought one of them from somewhere else and I didn't know I could have had a signed fisrt edition !!Damn!
The one I bought was the Six Wives of Henry 8th by David Starkey. The price is £20, but if this is kept in pristine condition in a few years someone would want to buy it an pay more! That's how it works anyway. I do have some first edition Famous Fives..but none of them signed by Endi Blyton..wow- that would be something brilliant!
So what you do is look at the site and see if there's one you 'd like and contact the branch that is named as having it. It may have been sold but it's a chance ...
